Guess what!! My insurance has stopped covering Xopenex, my asthma inhaler and nebulizer solution. Apparently they were supposed to contact me about this but no one did, so I got denied a refill for WHAT I THOUGHT was no reason. And of course I didn't get an email about the denial until today, Saturday, when I sent in the order on Wednesday, so I have to wait until Monday to yell at them. I checked online and it looks like they'll still pay for Albuterol, but with my tachycardia we switched to Xopenex to have less side effects and it was nice. I'm going to see if I can appeal this and make them pay for it anyway, but in the meantime I'll have to return to the Albuterol jitters. At first the prescription plan rep told me they stopped paying for ALL nebulizer treatments which freaked me out because I had literally just used some of my dwindling supply of neb solution before I called, like that is an Essential Staple in my asthma treatment and always has been. But when I checked online it's just a few brands besides Albuterol they're not paying for anymore.
