and if i said joel deserves a boyfriend
bill and frank are my dads
spent my morning watching behind the scenes/making videos of the tlou games and it hit me like a truck
reposting my last set because i show up in the tags now 😇
the dynamic changing between joel & ellie as she grows is very interesting to me.
when she was younger, she needed him more than he needed her but when she's older, it's the other way around.
without ellie, joel will be forced to look at himself in the mirror and ask who himself who he truly is. what can he do beyond just taking care of ellie? what can he provide for himself? how can he self sustain without living for someone else?
i think it was smart of neil & craig to show us different stages of joel's trauma, like when we get to see him react when the officer shines the light on his face.
it brings him back to when he lost sarah and he freaks out because of it, and the only way he can manage is by saving himself, ellie and tess in a violent way. he's in fear. he wants to save what he couldn't before. a life.
i hope it gets the masses to acknowledge and speak about mental health. speak about trauma.
rewatching a tlou & tlou2 longplay from a therapist and he's hitting the nail on the head every single time.
joel truly is a broken man until he builds a bond with ellie and it's beautiful to witness until you scratch beyond the surface.
