So you just might remember these scrappy 4” half square triangle lemoyne stars I made last year for Andy’s bag, but wound up putting aside for a different design. I brought them out today, added some easy corner triangles, and even with having to adapt to a mistake or two, I think it came out pretty decent.

I’m making a new quilt since my current one is… truly raggedy. This is square 2/42. 12” finished blocks.

The first petticoat came out a teensy bit too small in the waist to go over the chemise, so we are shortening the chemise.

I am really enjoying sewing for this special project.

I got into a flow state and constructed the whole slip petticoat. I love how this turned out. It could probably work as a pinafore of jumper skirt too. Addy will be wearing it to the next doll show as well.

Progress on my raggedy inspired quilted bag. Some of the blocks got shuffled a bit, but they still work. There’s so much piecing. Because I made these half square triangles two at a time, it also gives double the number of squares I need.

These will end up as 4” blocks. The squares go from 2” blocks, get trimmed down to 1.5” half square triangles, then finish as 1” squares in a 4.5” unfinished block. I’m so excited to see these come together. I love all the colors :)

All these pieces still need plastic snaps put on, and there’s a couple more things on the list, but I’m really proud of how this sewed up.

Raquel remains beautiful. She was very happy to model all the possible combinations for some gift sewing. There are a set of two “quasi historical chemise” tops, two sets of bloomers, and two petticoats. The chevron tucked top can go tucked into the elastic waist bloomers. Which makes value of 9 possible combinations.

Chevron tucked top with fancy pleated hem

Lace petticoat with tucks

Frilled petticoat

Tucked and lace trimmed straight drawers

Tucked bloomers

It was a complete joy to make these.
