SEWING BOUNDARIES _ #소윙바운더리스(#SewingBoundaries)의 디자이너 #하동호(#HaDongho)는 남성복으로 출발한 브랜드 영역을 '앤드로지너스'와는 조금 다른 유니섹스 기성복의 영역으로 조금씩 범주를 넓히고 있다. 2016년도 가을/겨울 시즌, 그가 탐험한 세계는 1980년대 후반부터 1990년대 초반 대중음악계 정서를 2016년 기성복으로 변주한 '#뉴잭스윙(New Jack Swing)이었다. '#1986 뉴 잭 스윙'이라는 주제처럼, 이 음악 장르는 특히 1990년대에 청소년기를 보낸 세대에 큰 영향을 끼쳤다. 현진영부터 #듀스(#DEUX)로 이어지는 한국 힙합 1세대 음악가들의 영감이기도 했다. 그 시절 음악가들이 입은 헐렁한 더플코트와 커다란 청바지, 팝아트를 연상하게 하는 선명한 색감의 지퍼형 운동복(#trainingwear), 광택이 흐르는 줄무늬 셔츠와 베이지색 부츠 모두 그때 우상(#idol)들이 입은 상징적인 옷차림(#signature style)이었다. 물론 소윙바운더리스가 그 향수를 복제한 것만은 아니다. 오히려 스트리트웨어와 맞춤 남성복의 '경계'에 맞춰 재해석했다. 두터운 울 소재의 통 넓은 회색 바지와 레지멘탈 패턴의 화려한 테일러드 재킷은 '실루엣'과 셔츠처럼 변주한 '소매 디테일'을 강조했다. 30년의 세월을 넘은 '1986년의 시간들'이 여전히 기성복으로 기능한다. — This season, designer #HaDongho of #SewingBoundaries drew his inspiration from ‘New Jack Swing,’ a popular music form in the 80-90s. The #youth in the #90s were hugely influenced by this music. #Korea’s first hip-hop generation that included #HyunJinyoung and DEUX was also inspired by this. The #runway show was a dazzling panorama of loose-fit #DuffleCoats, big-size #DenimPants, #PopArt-evoking vivid-color training wear, glossy stripe shirts and beige boots, all of which were considered #SignatureStyle of many idols. Of course, Sewing Boundaries did not stubbornly indulge in #nostalgia.
