(attacked meme) Kushimaru noted an open door. "Careless imbeciles..." He muttered to himself, feeling compelled to investigate. Once inside, he held Nuibari in a defensive stance that made counter attacks a simple task. It took only a moment to see that it was a home invasion. Once the tall male kicked a door open, he saw the girl from a few days in the past had been tied up. The impulse to stab her was overwhelming but he cut her free instead. It was the unusual choice for a mass murderer.
Early afternoon, the time of day when the village was at its brightest. Kirigakure was a safe place. It wasn’t like Suna, where just anyone could waltz right in and kidnap the Kazekage. The guards were effective. People could sleep easy at night. But there was a blind spot. Criminals couldn’t easily penetrate the village’s walls, but the cells of the detention center were so much easier. The guard should have been paying so much more attention. He didn’t even see the end of his life coming. From then it was only a matter of time until he was gone from the building. No one was any wiser.
A missing nin strong enough to survive an encounter with Kiri’s famous hunter ninjas, though capture was his ultimate result, was easily stealthy enough to sneak up on someone off her guard. Momo wasn’t prepared for danger in her own little apartment. She didn’t have anything valuable and certainly wasn’t well known enough for an enemy group to put a bounty on her head. No, all she had was some papers, unimportant papers as far as she was concerned. They weren’t even locked up. Why would she? It was only some notes from someone she had been told was a low level criminal, a nothing, but also coincidentally the partner of the man who had escaped custody.
She didn’t see it coming and it was only her quick reaction that spared her from the full brunt of the first attack. And yet after that she didn’t didn’t stand a chance. The girl had the home field advantage but there was no fighting off a more powerful shinobi whom had the element of surprise on his side. It was some kind of miracle that she didn’t end up dead and instead had been merely tied up. The tape over her mouth stung and she was fairy certain that she cracked a rib but what was really on her mind were those ropes. Momo detested being tied up. She really did. The brunette had no concern for whether she was captured. She’d done that all before. No, it was the ropes around her body that brought tears to her eyes. She couldn’t handle it. The feeling was so constricting, suffocating. Her anxiety was building with every passing second.
Surprisingly enough the man merely grabbed the papers and left, giving little thought to someone he believed was incapable of doing a thing to him even if she were free. That was his mistake. She would make sure of it. No one had the nerve to tie her up, no one living that is. Even through her tears, Momo struggled against the ropes. A few minutes passed and she was making progress but her entire body stilled upon hearing footsteps intruding into her apartment once more. She watched the door, mentally preparing herself for the sight of the man from earlier, only to catch sight of Kushimaru in all his homicidal glory. For once she was grateful to see a rampaging killer.
The moment the ropes were sliced from her body, the girl reached up, ripping the tape from her mouth in one harsh motion. “Soichiro Shimizu,” she muttered, naming her assailant while attempting to catch her breath. Even the marks left on her wrists by the ropes caused her chest to tighten. She needed to get herself under control. “He stole some documents from an interrogation.” Luckily her anger was greater than her anxiety. Momo pulled herself off the floor, staring straight at Kushimaru. “I am going to kill him. You coming?”
