hi i was just wondering if you have ever considered owning a non-parrot type bird (such as a finch, dove, canary, etc) or if you have ever owned a non-parrot type bird! also what made you choose parrots over other bird species?
I have considered it, actually! We're pretty much at full capacity for birds at the moment, until we can get a bigger place, but I would love to have a dove or a fancy pigeon at some point. :D Maybe even some chickens, if we have the space and money.
I think I was just drawn to the intelligence, sociability, and playfulness of parrots. Like a lot of people, I think, my bird obsession started when we got a budgie (Alice!) and I got to know what weird, adorable, bossy little creatures they are. From there I just got into researching more parrot species, and found that cockatiels and conures were within my ability to care for and had personality traits that spoke to me. I really just kind of fell into parrot ownership--it's been a weird journey, but one I'm very glad I embarked upon. :D
