i gotta figure out how to push my shadows darker. they are not showing up in the images but when i draw darker shadows it just looks like the people have racoon eyes... why is blending so harddddd
Reblogging to add reference pictures. Had to go dig through some stuff because my art studio is currently in boxes but I did find (some of) what I was looking for!
The prismacolor colorless blender! It’s clear, so it doesn’t change the color of whatever you are trying to blend.
And if texture is an issue I really like the col-erase pencils on top of marker because they have a harder lead so they go on smoother. (Drawback is limited colors)
You may want to try different paper types? A smooth vellum cardstock will hold up to a bunch of marker blending and has a finish with minimal tooth so the pencil won’t show as much texture, for example.
This is the streaky thing I was mentioning
The prisma blender pencil will help with that! And to help control pencil texture, especially when blending, try coloring in small, soft circles. It takes a bit of practice to get used to, but you end up with a much smoother finish. Same goes for the blender (or white) pencil when you use that, circles or ovals over the base color and it helps fill in the gaps.
