The outdoor art gallery by the Painted Ladies and Alamo Square in San Francisco was recently refreshed with new art. This piece is by Argentine artist Andres Iglesias known as Cobre on the street. He painted a homage to Robin Williams last August on Market Street. __ He paints faces with eyes that draw you in. There is a lot of drama in this eye. It makes me think Salvador Dali because of the long hair from below. There is nothing special about those Victorian houses other than the lovely view of downtown from the park across the street. The City is full of beautiful Victorians with great paint jobs and other eye candy like this art __ Ricky Watts is a visual artist and designer who creates wonderful illustrations frequently of houses and Victorians! You can purchase his art at very reasonable prices on his website. Classic rubber ducky by fnnch __ There is an empty lot by the Painted Ladies in San Francisco that local artist fnnch made into a temporary outdoor gallery curating the art. Last year 8 artists painted plywood canvases mounted on the chain-link fence bounding the property. This past month those canvases were removed for 8 other local and visiting artists to showcase their art. This is one of his initiatives to bring art to the street in creative ways in a community that has become increasingly difficult for local artists to live and work, show and tell and create a visual connection with the people. __ fnnch is a local artist recognized for his honey bears and big lips. He was recently on Ted Talks where he speaks about art in the community and some of his ways of bringing it to the streets.
