Now that I've had time to digest SFS, I can completely understand Jean's pov. Jean gave up a -lot- for him, and then Marco hits him with this. He has Claudine to think about, and now Marco's basically putting Jean in the same situation that Marco was in with Thomas. That's a huge lifetime disease. If they did end up having a relationship after this, I dunno if Jean would want to risk getting sick himself. I just don't see a happy ending, but I can't wait to see how you spin this tale.

Well I can inform you that, as I am Top Class Weenie, there will be a happy ending. How that happy ending comes to be is another story…

But yes, Jean did and said a lot of terrible things and did not handle Marco’s reveal the way perhaps he should have, but everyone has to remember that the boy is 20 years old and scared out of his wits.

Oh my god. If marco had given in and slept with Jean then- then Jean- then he might have- wow. Amazing what one decision can decide for someone else huh

Plus the fact, as a result of being diagnosed with what he has been, Marco has a constant worry in regards to sex and sexual contact. He doesn’t go into sexual situations willy-nilly; he has only had two sexual partners prior to Jean, and those two people are Mikasa and Thomas. He’s not the sort of person who could just jump into bed with anyone because he’s naturally cautious, especially when he was younger, which makes the situation all the more tragic and difficult.

So I guess I mean to say that yes, that’s partly the reason why he didn’t sleep with Jean. The other is that a) he cares too much about Jean to do anything he’s not sure of and b) he’s not ready. He tells the truth about those two things, but…telling Jean about what his pills are for in the middle of /that/ would have kinda killed the mood lmao

does no major character death tag mean that you fix what you break or that the story ends before marco dies but we still know he's going to die after that

The ‘no major character death’ tag means exactly that: no major character death. All I’m gonna say on the matter as I don’t wanna go spoiling the ending :P

Yep. It’s got another chapter and an epilogue to go. Or two chapters and an epilogue (hopefully not - I’m planning to squidge the rest of the story into a mega chapter!)

I can calm you down by saying that the end of the fic does not culminate in a death of ANY sort - I would have tagged for that if it was a thing. It /was/ going to be a thing, but I got convinced not to |D so you have Lucy to thank for that :P

This was the tough chapter. I mean, the whole fic is a tough fic if I’m honest but I love it so and I love the pain it gives me and others around me :’D but I’m glad you enjoyed the chapter!
