San Francisco Zine Fest was amazing. I met some incredible artists, writers, and makers, and made off with a treasure trove of printed and hand-made art objects. I am so happy to have participated in this event with the 429 Collective. I can't wait until next year!

Some highlights of San Francisco Zine Fest 2015!

Thanks to my friend and her partner I got a ride.

So many exhibitors!

Next to CCA Comics, the program I’m in, was so great. Got to talk to my friends.

I looked at people more than others’ work.

People bought my work!!! (☉▽⊙)

A girl’s comment after reading: “This is some serious shit.” I took it as a compliment because it showed I did things right. This is my motivation from now on.

The same lady who bought my book asked if I had any other work to buy before the event was nearly ended. I hated to disappoint but I had to say no. BIGGEST ENCOURAGEMENT! இ▽இ

Some afterthoughts of San Francisco Zine Fest 2015.

Need to expand my range of work.

Should exercise more. Standing most of the time killed my legs. _(¦3」∠)_

Nice printing really attracted people.

Maybe I have more thoughts but I don’t remember right now. I will digest and arrange my plans for future events.

Hey friends, I hope things are blooming for you! My name is Mar Pascual and I’m a Filipinx, non-binary, queer, fat, femme art maker and zine writer. Though I won’t be at San Francisco Zine Fest this year, these zines will be available for purchase at the 429 Collective table for $5.

Bloom: A Zine About Coming Into Femmeness contains words and drawings that explore the intersecting relationships between brown identities, trauma processing, gender, and growth.

SFZF takes place tomorrow — Sunday, September 6th, at the County Fair Building (1199 9th Ave, SF CA 94122) from 11-5 p.m.
