What if SG Steven met PoP Garnet?

I got two asks for this one!  Here we go!

SG Steven walks along the boardwalk happily humming.  Notices a familiar looking figure sitting on a pier staring at the ocean.  Skips on over.  “HEY GARNET!”

PoP Garnet jumps to her feet and faces SG Steven.  SG Steven stops at looks at her with confusion.

SG Steven: “Oh!  I’m sorry, you look like someone I know.” he laughs.  “My name is Steven!  What is yours?” he extends his hand out to her.

PoP Garnet: “Garnet,” came the low response, hands remaining at her sides.

SG Steven stares at her for a moment.  “Now that’s weird…you even have the same name too.  But that’s ok!  The other Garnet is really cool so I bet you are too!”

PoP Garnet stares at him.  “What are you?”

SG Steven: “Me?!”

PoP Garnet nods.

SG Steven: “I’m a growing boy who loves music and making people smile!  I also love all of the people here in Beach City.”

PoP Garnet: “Boy, a young male is normally referred to this title between the ages of 3 to 12.″

SG Steven laughs.  “Well technically I’m fourteen so I’m a teenager.”

PoP Garnet: “That would explain your size, though you could just be a small adult, not all adults grow to the same size.”

SG Steven laughs again.  “You’re funny.”

PoP Garnet doesn’t smile, but takes a step closer and crouches down so they are eye level.  She tentatively pokes SG Steven on the shoulder.  SG Steven giggles and tries to poke her back.  PoP Garnet reflexively avoids the poke.  SG Steven brings up both of his pointer fingers ready to fly into a poke fight.  He tries with all of his might to poke PoP Garnet, but she avoids or blocks each one while returning with her own gentle pokes.

SG Steven after a few minutes breathes out heavily.  “Wow you’re really good at this game!”

PoP Garnet: “Game?”

SG Steven takes advantage of PoP Garnet’s confusion and almost pokes her on the nose, but she catches his hand in time.  SG Steven laughs again.  “I like you!”

PoP Garnet releases his hand and frowns.  “You shouldn’t like me.”

SG Steven: “Why not?”

PoP Garnet: “You don’t know anything about me.”

SG Steven: “That doesn’t matter.  So far you seem pretty cool, just like the other Garnet.”

SG Steven suddenly moves in and hugs PoP Garnet.  PoP Garnet freezes for a few seconds before loosely hugging him back.

PoP Garnet: “You World Above people are weird.”

What about R&R Garnet & SG Steven?

R&R Garnet took another stroll through the odd town called Beach City.  She certainly enjoyed the sight of the beach and had spent some good time walking along it.  Eventually she made her way deeper into the boardwalk and came across a building that could be easily walked into.  Mixed odd sounds along with bright lights made her cringe, yet curious.  She walked into the place called “Funland Arcade” searching for what musicians and instruments could make all of those sounds.  Tall rectangles with colorful images dancing on them filled the place.  After searching around R&R Garnet couldn’t find a single musician and had deduced that all of the sounds she was hearing were coming from the various colorful, metal boxes.

“No wonder this place sounds so disjointed.  None of these themes go along with each other.”

R&R Garnet was about to leave the place when she heard a youthful voice call out.

“You look amazing!”

R&R saw the figure running towards her and tuned to face the young teenage boy.

SG Steven: “You look just like a princess!” he looked at her in her ball gown with starry eyes.

R&R Garnet smiled.  “Why thank you, for your kind words young Sir.”

SG Steven: “My name is Steven!” he extended to his hand to her.

R&R Garnet took it delicately.  “Lady Garnet.”

SG Steven’s eyes got even bigger.  “I know a Garnet!  She looks a lot like you.  So you’re like a Princess Garnet then!”

R&R Garnet laughed: “Technically I’m a duchess, but I can be Princess Garnet here if you want.”

SG Steven: “Of course my lady,” he bowed to her.  “Have you been to an arcade before?”

R&R Garnet: “What is an ‘arcade’?”

SG Steven: “It’s a place to play all sorts of games!  Here let me show you!”

He grabbed R&R Garnet’s hand and tugged her to one of the games.  Together SG Steven showed her all of the various consoles and demonstrated how to play a number of them.  He would offer to let her play, but she generally refused as it seemed so foreign and confusing.  On one particular game SG Steven took a hard mallet and hit figures as they popped up.  This game seemed doable so when he offered to let her play, R&R Garnet took up the mallet.  Shaky hands held the object tightly, brown eyes darting back and forth trying to see which one would pop up first.  A “gangster” as SG Steven called them, jumped up.  With a mighty swing, the mallet was brought down on the figure.  However, before she could prepare to swing again another had already popped up.  R&R Garnet launched for it, only to miss and hit the game with a clang.  Gangsters jumped up and down, getting faster with each second it seemed.  In moments the music had stopped and flashing numbers were displayed.

SG Steven: “You did pretty good for a first time!  You got five of them!”

R&R Garnet was no pleased with the results.  “May I try again?”

SG Steven: “Of course my Lady!” he smiled as he dropped in a few coins.

Music began anew.  R&R Garnet readied herself.  Sharp eyes spotted the first figure that dared to stand.  Fast hands promptly whacked it on the head.  R&R Garnet only played a few more times before she needed to step out of the place and relax.  All of the noise and lights were starting to make her head hurt.

SG Steven: “That last round you did really well!  23 out of 25!  Before you know if you’ll be playing on advanced!”

R&R Garnet smiled. “Why thank you Sir Steven.  You were most generous to pay for my ability to play.”

SG Steven: “Any time!  I have to go now, but it was great to meet you Princess Garnet.”

R&R Garnet: “I mirror the sentiment.  Fare thee well Sir Steven.” 

With that the young teen waved and ran off leaving R&R Garnet to explore the rest of the boardwalk on her own.  While it had been overwhelming and confusing, she certainly did enjoy hitting the figures.

What about SG Steven meets champion Garnet and Pearl!🤓

SG Steven strolls up to the Funland Arcade, pockets full of quarters, ready to play some of his favorites.  He hears the familiar beat of Meat Beat Mania 2 going and decides to check out who is playing.  Two figures are going head to head moving with the designated combinations.  SG Steven, stops when he realizes that the two older teens looked an awfully lot like Garnet and Pearl.  His eyebrows furrow, he had met another individual the other day that looked similar to Garnet as well.  “Something odd is going on, but maybe they will be my friends!” he thinks.

Meat Beat Mania 2: “Player 2 barbecue!  Try again?”

C Pearl: “I so had you that time!”

C Garnet continues to move along effortlessly with the motions.

C Pearl checks her pockets finding them empty.  “Garnet, where are your quarters?”  she asks as she begins to search through the taller teen’s jacket pockets.

C Garnet continues, not responding to C Pearl.  C Pearl sighs.

SG Steven: “Here!  I’ve got extra,” he extends the four coins to the teenager.

C Pearl, “Oh thank you!  I’m trying to beat my girlfriend, and so far have not been successful.”

SG Steven: “You got it this time!”

C Pearl puts in her coins and grabs the meat shakers.  For a couple more minutes she moves with the beat until the game announced her sound defeat.  C Pearl sighs, but smiles when SG Steven cheers her on anyway.

C Pearl: “It’s been nearly a hour and a half, Garnet hasn’t missed once.”

SG Steven: “Wow, she’s really good!”

C Pearl: “She is, but we have a dinner reservation in a half an hour and it will take us 20 minutes to get there.  I don’t know what to do.”

SG Steven taps his chin as he thinks of a solution.

C Pearl: “It’s like she’s under a spell or something…”

SG Steven: “That’s it!” he snapped his fingers.

C Pearl: “What?”

SG Steven: “You need to kiss her to break the spell!”

C Pearl blushes heavily.  “Oh I don’t know…it may not work…”

SG Steven: “You can do it!  Don’t be shy, go on and kiss her!”

C Pearl gathers her courage and cautiously approaches C Garnet.  Weaving through the wavy arms, C Pearl stands in front of her girlfriend, grabs her face, and pulls her in for a solid kiss on the lips.  C Garnet freezes her movements, surprised, then embraces her girlfriend back.  The spell had been broken.

C Garnet: “What was that for?”

C Pearl: “To get you out of the game in time for our dinner date.”

C Garnet: “Oh…I’m sorry I totally lost track of everything.”

C Pearl: “Don’t worry, this nice boy helped me out.”

They turn to face SG Steven.

SG Steven: “Hi!  I’m Steven!  You two look really cute together.”

The two blush and hold each other’s hand.

C Garnet: “Why thank you.  This is Pearl, my girlfriend, and my name is Garnet.  Nice to meet you Steven.”

C Pearl: “Yes, thank you for your help Steven.”

SG Steven: “Not a problem.  I gotta say you both look like two people I know, just a lot younger.”

C Garnet: “Oh yeah?”

SG Steve: “Yeah they are also named Garnet and Pearl.”

C Pearl: “Weird…”

C Garnet: “I think I ran into them, two actually, who also share my similar appearance and name.”

C Pearl: “That’s odd…”

SG Steven: “Strange things are happening in Beach City.”

C Garnet: “Agreed.”

C Pearl: “We need to leave now, thank you for your help Steven!”

SG Steven: “Anytime!” he waved as they walked off.  He then turned to conquer the new racing game that had arrived.
