Being a mentor is a thankless job. You have to watch tributes die on the Arena every sweep. It is hard and nobody in the Capitol understands.
Her screams fill the entire broadcast room. The tributes are not seasoned killers. They do not know how to give a fatal deathblow. Even when Kanaya's limeblood tribute stabs her a second time, she keeps on screaming; this time, louder. She is fighting to stay conscious: blood pouring from the wounds in her chest, gasping for air with her punctured lungs, crying out from the pain inflicted upon her, trying not to die.
The other tributes ignore her screams as they looted her belongings from her not-corpse.
She is not even your tribute. (Your useless jadeblood tribute — the only one who would save her if he could — is out cold.) She is Terezi's. Yet, you feel your digestive tracks turn over as you watch those who were once the tealblood's allies search her live, screaming body for supplies, as if her evident pain and struggling was nothing but a slight annoyance to them.
It seemed to go on for a long time.
The horn finally sounds: a signal that the tealblood is finally dead. But the screams are still going on. You look to see Terezi being dragged out of the room crying and kicking. You want to go after her, but you are not in any state to comfort anyone yourself.
