After not giving my OC's a lot of thought over the last several years, they came back with a vengeance today for no apparent reason?
Thinking about the origins of spirits of Riyukale, and the winning theory so far is that the planet existed before the spirits, they did not create it, but they helped shape it.
Similarly, they did not create humans, but were named and shaped by them when these appeared.
It has been a long-standing canon of mine that while spirits can harm and even kill humans, a human cannot use a spirit's energy to harm or kill another human. I'm not sure where I stand on animals on this - it might be a bit much to specify that humans cannot use spirit energy to harm animals, but HMM
Had an idea about Sadeen's background - she is from a noble family, who serve as "priests" (hm, maybe more like emissaries? but all must be mages to perform their duties) at the temple of the water spirits. As the oldest, she was expected to take over the duties, but Major Le rejected her, saying she did loved other things too much, and would not be loyal to the water spirits once ordained. Since her affinity was still greatest for water, she settled for being a spell-caster. Because the rejection happened when Sadeen turned 15, she is educated and trained as a mage, and many people underestimate her knowledge.
Despite rejecting Sadeen, Le does not wish her to fall to harm from her daughter spirits (Minor Le and Roh), so she "gifts" Sadeen a bracelet which marks her immune, and stores a small amount of mana. This cannot be removed. Sadeen hides it by wearing additional bracelets on her wrists.
