End of week 1. I just finished the 1st week of the 2nd term of my painting course. This time I'm going to post progress photos as I go, also talk about what I learnt each week. This week I learnt that filling in a canvas improves each section. I had just done the sky and it looked streaky and totally off. Its the first coat so that's OK, but just by filling in the rest of the canvas the sky looks better. I also learnt that brush stroke direction matters. I did strokes in any direction on the road and it gives it a less layered and less constant effect. Should be fixed with the next coat. Next week I will add another coat and hopefully move more towards the colours I want, rather than colours that are near enough.
