Hospital Bed
Dawn laid in the hospital bed, waking up slowly and sluggishly. She didn’t know what was going on. She couldn’t really open her eyes. There was a faint beep but she didn’t know where it was. Where was she? She tried to move but was met with instant pain. She whimpered, the sound not even really sounding like her. Where was she? What was going on?
She heard a voice that sounded vaguely familiar, but she couldn’t remember where from.
“Dawn?” the voice was soft and sounded concerned and slightly surprised, as though she didn’t expect Dawn to be awake yet, “Dawn, my name is Tara Knowles. I was one of the doctors to work on you. I’m Jax’s wife, from the Sons. My husband works with your dad. He’s out in the hallway...would you like me to get him?”
Hospital? Doctor? Why couldn’t she open her eyes. She almost began to shake in confusion. Where was Jonah? Where was her dad...the hallway. Her dad would explain things. She tried to nod, but it hurt and she opened her mouth before telling her in barely a whisper, “please.” Her throat was so dry. She wanted water.
“Okay, I’ll bring him in.” Tara told her, moving out of the room, walking towards the waiting room, a clipboard in hand.
