Hmmm what are your top 5 ACD Holmes stories/cases?
ok it's been three days and I'm finally remembering to answer this. without actually pulling up a list to make sure I'm not forgetting one that i actually love (bc if i do that I'll just be going through the whole like "oh wait that one was really good. oh wait that one was really really good too. ooh so was that—"), top five, not necessarily in order.
the three garridebs (what, am i supposed to not start with this one?)
the empty house ("a thousand apologies.....")
the blanched soldier (narration by holmes my beloved....)
a study in scarlet (love at first sight, so many delicious details.)
the sign of four (with the reading i've now adopted of "invent a wife and convince the public you're not in love with each other after your first story went like that")
i was going to include the devil's foot but i think most of the impact from that one was from how the granada series adapted it and with details that aren't technically in the text perhaps. it's been a minute since i read it but i did just watch that one.
