he’s a warlock, more especifically the current high warlock of seoul
he’s around 450 years old but looks 24 so he’s pretty much old as fuck
anyway think magnus bane and you’ve got hajoon tbh
his warlock marks are cat eyes and sky blue hair which he keeps hidden with glamours whenever he’s out but (if you ever get to see it) he doesn’t whenever he’s at home
he was born in 1564 to a modest family but unknown to them his mother had laid with a demon and conceived a child
when his warlock marks appeared his family freaked out and his father wanted him killed -- which he almost did !
his mother claimed he had been cursed by the devil somehow and rejected any connection to him or what she had done in the past
so basically he was shunned out and had to learn to survive on his own
his magic was strong even as a child which helped him get contracts with people who wanted his help and basically live by
he wandered around the world for a hundred years, wanting to see everything
he’s met countless famous figures, shadowhunters + downworlders
so he’s kinda out of touch with time??? like he doesn’t have the mentality of realizing time keeps moving forward
anyway he made the mistake of loving a mundane back in the day, when he was a young warlock who didn’t realize his beloved would age and wither but he wouldn’t
he stayed with her for the entirety of her life until she died and he was p much :((((((
he vowed to not love another, not a mundane at least
has since then had many lovers ranging from mundanes to downworlders and even some bold shadowhunters but he never stays long enough
he had a tendency of disappearing whenever he felt like it, just left anything and anyone behind
bUT that changed when he returned to seoul in 1985, one of the oldest warlocks in town at the time and decided to stay
he became the high warlock of seoul not long after but he doesnt give much thought to his position????
since warlocks are usually independent people it’s not often he has to help his people (although he keeps an eye on every warlock within seoul just in case)
he gets however many visits from downworlders or shadowhunters asking him to help, which he does, for a price
he’s somewhat okay with both nephilims and downworlders even though he’s had some rough times with some of them in the past (ie. a clan of vampires wanted him dead at some point, werewolves trashed his place and killed his servants, etc...) but he knows not all of them are like that so he’s like eh
he’s considered leaving before but now that there’s going to be a war breaking loose he doesn’t think he should so he’s stayed.... for now
basically hajoon is an old soul who likes to drink wine and do magic tricks to surprise mundanes, kinda sleeps around and doesnt take his “job” seriously
