Design for my Ember based Groupie! I will probably be kinging this design sometime next week. I accidentally let my Wine groupie age up before sex-changing him, so I’m going to make a Wine design as well just in case I want to king that, just to get something out of him. I can still sex-change the Ember kid, but he ages up tomorrow so I’ve got to make my decision tonight!

I just completed my Snowflake girl, Qerisandin! #794145710542. Her marks have been complete for a while, but I waited until she aged up today to give her her decor (gotta save those uses!) The total cost to get her together was 52 GB, 17000 SB, and 700 Stink Beetles.

This lady is my absolute favorite lioness right now, and I found myself giving her ice powers while decorating her. I tried out those Lich Flame Accents and the lore came up behind me and whacked me with a brick, shouting “Ice flames! Powers she can’t control! The melancholy of her life path changing in the blink of an eye!” It’s probably cliche, but I love it so much that I’m working on a huge art piece of her and her uncontrollable powers.

Finished the new icon/user tag for my Lioden account ShadedColors! (#136566) Every time I switch kings, I promise myself that I’ll make a new icon for that king, and I have literally never done it since I created the first icon for Bedengii. But I couldn’t let it slide this time since Karî has a completely different design! 

I really love how it turned out! Did I intend it to be this detailed? Absolutely not! Did I have a fantastic time experimenting with cell shading and foliage stamps and cracked rocks? Absolutely! I’m really enjoying learning to do backgrounds!

Last time I made an icon, I did it at 300px by 300px and then shrunk it down, and tbh I really didn’t enjoy it that much. So this time I went back to a 150px by 150px canvas, and I found that even with how detailed this is, I enjoyed working with a smaller canvas so much more! I’m thinking about experimenting with pixel art, or maybe icon/user tag commissions, since I find it so fun to work at this scale.

Karî was Kinged late last night! She's a clean G5 Ruffian with an Incubus mane, up for studding at 250SB! Pay with 1GB and you get 6 refunded breedings! Some lore below cut:

Bêavii was retired early to make room for Karî, something that I haven't done with any king before. In-Universe, this is because he died amongst all the chaos of the Heaven vs Hell war. Bêavii was not originally a bad person, but he was crowned at a very young age during the droughts. His rule was stalked by one misfortune after another - first the horrific droughts, then the locust plagues, then an outbreak of rabies, then a literal apocalyptic war. He felt helpless. How could he protect his lands, his lionesses, his cubs, from all these threats that loomed so large?

Every King before him had offered kindness to non-Pride lions, but Bêavii turned away from that path. Who could blame him, he thought, for making the selfish choice? For putting his own Pride above all other lions, when the world was coming down around their ears? Maybe his Pride would be safe if he joined with the darker forces. When the world is being ravaged by monsters, isn't it safest to be a monster? So he joined with the forces of Hell. He fought and he tortured and he desperately hoped it would be enough. And that choice doomed him.

The fires and demons of hell dogged his path. As Bêavii sought to bring misfortune to others, he brought misfortune wherever he walked. The lush jungle of his territory was already so weak from the droughts and the locusts. It's no surprise that the sparks caught. His world became choked with ash and smoke. He carried as many cubs as he could. He fought for so long to give his lionesses time to swim across the river. And when he could fight no longer, when he couldn't breathe past the ash, the demons came for him one last time. And his world became ash and fire forever.

As the Pride lionesses trembled in the wake, they found themselves leaderless. Their King was dead, their home destroyed. But as they picked their way through the burnt landscape, one lioness stepped up. Karî began organizing the Pride, checking on injuries, delegating tasks - she began leading, not because she wanted to, but because someone had to. She, too, was royalty, descended from the First King Sor by way of Bedengii's daughter.

The lionesses crowned her in the moonlight, at the top of the Temple of Ancestors, as was tradition. No past King came forward to offer her their pelt's colors, but every single one of their ghostly shades was there in the swirling mist. They knew Karî would need to make her own path. It was time to let these colors die with Bêavii.

Karî knew that it was Bêavii's cruelty that had doomed him and the Pride. The war was still raging, rabies was still lurking, and their territory was turned to ash, but Karî declared that there would be no more cruelty. It was time for a return to kindness and love. What little they had, they would share, and what mercy they could offer, they would. The only way to rebuild what they had lost was to rebuild it together.

A few of my favorite kids right now! All are mutie fails that happened to turn out gorgeous! I’m particularly fond of the first, who has a lot of Noctis, Elysian, and raffle marks, and the middle gal, who’s an Albino with an Orchid mane and some good cherry marks. I’m really hopeful I’ll either get a good Cloudburst or some very similar Albinos from her

My foldie Pêchan is all grown up and decor-ed! Changed her eyes to Garnet and maxed all her opacities. Unfortunately one of the decors I picked out is crafted and I don’t have all the ingredients, so her neck is a little empty, but I can’t wait to see what decors March and April bring for her!

Someone ended up messaging me telling me how pretty my girl Gelek is and asking for a reverse breeding! I'm honestly so stoked because aside from being a (muted) colorbomb, she's not anything special and has a longish heritage, so it's really nice to know that people like her regardless! Also that people browse other players' dens, since that's apparently how they found her. Just all around feels good :)

Fairly happy with my two Wenet cousins! They’ve got decent marks, although the first is torturing me a little cause she’s like a genies gift - she’s got Ticking and Siamese, plus Iris, but in slots 1 & 2. Exactly I was looking for, but in the wrong slots. The second gal is kind of funny cause she has several of the same marks, but in different colors. I’m going to try and find designs for them, hopefully I’ll come up with something good.
