I'm a reader.
And that means I have something that no one can ever take away from me.
My imagination.
Try, and I will show you my fangs and claws, sharper than any blade, faster than any bullet and more precise than anything you might find elsewhere.
My weapons are my words. And I learned them from all the heroes, the villains and everyone in between that I got to meet on my long journeys through the pages. All those charactets I fell in love with. I fell in love with the way they bare their teeth, the way they yield their knives and the way their bullets will struck you right between the eyes.
Those are my friends, my people who will stand by my side as I will stand by theirs. And if you try to cross us, you will soon learn that there is barely any difference between a hero and a villain. That it's all just a matter of perspective. And we will not hesitate to be the villain in your story to make your life a living hell. We will be the shadows you see lurking in the dark, the monsters beneath your bed and the nightmares that will keep you up at night when you were just about to fall asleep.
I'm a reader and therefore I have created an army. An army out of ink and blood and tears. And if you think I am weak, I will not hesitate to proof you otherwise.
I learned to stand my ground in the bloody feuds of the fae courts on the streets of Huntsdale.
I've survived countless nights at the Barrel in Ketterdam, watching everyone around me lie, deceive, hurt and kill for less than a dime and I've come back just for fun.
I know every thief and assassin and any other scum you might find in the dirty bars of grey London and I've walked through the abandonend palace in black London with a smile on my face.
I've been to Mordor and back and now I simply like to go there for a stroll.
I've bested the white witch and sat with the kings and queens of Cair Paravel.
I've battled monsters, wizards, giants and even gods themselves. I've seen death countless times and lived to tell the tale of it's cold fingers wrapping around someone else's neck.
I am strong. And that I will proof to anyone or anything that will get in my way.
Because all these books and stories showed me how.
Because I am a reader. I will not stand by, I will fight. This is my life, and I will live it, fully, and enjoy every moment of it so much it might make you sick. But I don't care. For you don't know the things that brought me here, the battles I had to fight along the way. You don't know me. So let me tell you one thing:
I am a reader. That makes me strong. And somehow, sometimes, that is enough.
