The sun had just only been up for a short time when Shadhemir began his trip to the Mage tower. This time, he’d left while Neun was awake and aware of where he was going. No secrets, he thought to himself with a grim smile. She was concerned, he knew, but he felt that he should try and see this through.
Entering the the tower, the warrior stopped and looked around. The hall was mostly empty, a few people moving about. But in the back, at the same desk he’d been every other time, sat the little gnome. Surrounded by books, the gnome looked back and forth from one tome to the next, never noticing the human that was now standing next to him.
“Good morning,” Shadhemir said quietly, trying to get the gnome’s attention.
“Oh ho,” the gnome said, suddenly looking up from his books. “You came back. I didn’t think you would.”
Kissy reluctantly admits that she mis-reads Neun's last name as "Dessert" at least 50 times a day (she is sorry for this); so what is Neun's favorite dessert?
Neun forgives Kissy, of course. She’s always been partial to cookies of all sorts, but her favorite is definitely the chocolate chip cookies Evan bakes for her.
The Meeting
The trio stood around the small table set up for the meeting. Neun delicately set out an inkwell, quill, and various papers, her hands shaking slightly. It was quiet, the only sound coming from the nearby river. She leaned on the table and took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. Her eyes turned to Evan and she managed a small smile. She reached over and squeezed his hand.
“I’m happy you’re here.” She turned to Moon’ori. “Both of you, thank you.”
Letter of Apology
Dear Evan Shadhemir,
I just wanted to apologize for being so forward the other night. I didn't know what to expect from you, but I just couldn't hide how I was feeling anymore.
Ever since the first time I met you, I've felt a special connection. Whether that is to stay as friends, or someday flourish into something more, remains to be seen.
I'd like to meet with you soon. Don't let my overstepping be the end of a wonderful friendship. Please write me back when you have time.
I do hope that you find happiness in whomever you are with. You are a good man, and you're going to make some lucky woman feel very special someday.
Thank you for everything that you have been helping me with, during this hard time after Bel was taken from me. It means more than you could possibly know.
I will remain strong and carry on, so don't worry about me. But if someday you find yourself thinking of me, you know where to find me.
Sincerly, Lycandria
