Been a while since I finished an entire series, but oh my god do I love this series. And now I shall do a one sentence summary of each book.

Kiss Quotient: A well known business woman with high level autism hires a male escort to train herself to get use to being touched in order to try and have a normal relationship.

Bride Test: A grandmother arranges a marriage for her grandson with high functioning autism to the first woman who was kind to her on her vacation.

Heart Principle: A struggling music prodigy starts therapy and finds out shes autistic but shes been masking it her entire life around her family ends up dating a guy completely against her family's wishes.

Excerpt From My Explorative Research Essay

My research and tags from exploring similar blogs has led me into researching dark academia and then the lesser light academia.

Dark academia is a popular academic aesthetic that revolves around classic literature, the pursuit of self-discovery, and a general passion for knowledge and learning. It is one of several variations, each with a unique` subject focus. Dark academia's best-known visual variations stem primarily from European cultures.

“Light academia is an aesthetic that focuses on the softer and gentler side of dark academia,” continues Brennan. “It still embodies the love of learning, but with an airier, less doom-focused feel that shows that knowledge brings light and happiness in the outdoors rather than a gothic darkness seen curled up in a corner.”

Light Academia is an academic aesthetic and the visually lighter counterpart of Dark Academia. Dark Academia typically involves intense and negative themes, including literary tragedy, discussion of the meaning of life, heartbreak, oppression, escapism, and death.

From this research I’ve come to realize that at my heart I have always been an academic (I’ve known this my whole life actually), but now I realize I am neither light nor dark. While I do dive into dark academia and stay heavily on the light academia side, I am nonbiased at heart and want to learn everything there is to know.

Upon further inspection I realize there has been an attempt for something called “grey academia” but not in the same context that I would consider and focus on. Perhaps “shadow academia” would prove better. As the light does cast a shadow and the dark is where the shadow connects to the light.

The space between dark and light, the shadows of uncertainty and the beacon of awareness, disguise or reveal the character and nature of the person. Others can point the way, but only you can illuminate and navigate the path.

There may however be a mix up as there is a character named Shadow in My Hero Academia and even a YouTube channel called Shadow Academy, which appears to be a band… Yeah I don’t want that copyright.

What would the shadows even include, I wonder? Dealing with our inner selves for one. Listening to instrumentals of all kinds. Tea and coffee. Reading, lots of reading, all kinds of reading I hope. Reading cross cultures and worlds and myths. Cooking up a storm, recipes of all kinds. Fashion for the sake of comfort and staying warm or cool. While the colors may have been neutral due to the time period being mimicked, I propose that of the trend setters. Bold and colorful. The rebels. Indicating the dark of hidden changes of society. The lessons needed to be learned. The things attempted to be covered up brought to light and the things brought to light, but without all the details… Am I on to something or no?
