Hikaru's Short Story Week Returns!

We’re doing this again? I’m just as surprised as you are! Starting 2/9/26 through 2/12/26 Asks will be open for short story writing prompts involving Shadow Adventures or Turning Tides. Here's some rules for prompt asks:

No NSFW (Im okay with a little spicy but nothing graphic)

Please no overly complicated prompts

be fair, if you post annon limit it to 2-3 asks so everyone has a chance to get their prompt written

I will not do prompts that have to do with fic's I haven't written yet. Ex: Shadow Colors or Tides of Darkness stuff. (cuz that would be spoilers)

I have the right to refuse to write any prompt that makes me feel uncomfy

If there are similar prompts I will just comment that something similar was already written.

If you try to send prompts BEFORE 2/9 they will be deleted. No being sneaky!

Depending on how many prompts I receive I might cap the amount of prompts. I will try to hash out 1-2 prompts a day until the 12th.

After the 12th, Asks will be turned off temporarily until I can get through them all. I’m only doing 4 days this time, so I don’t burn myself out. If anyone has any other questions, let me know!

Roll swap: Shadow takes Sonic for a date. After shadow 06.

Aww yes! The tension of being completely out in public. I'm keeping it vague cuz any issues will happen during Unleashed. ;)

Sonic meets Shadow at a nearby market. A place where small businesses could put up booths and sell their merchandise. It was a place Shadow would shop that didn't overwhelm him with excitement and praise.

A good place to test out how people react to them being together.

Shadow was already waiting. Giving Sonic a gentle smile as he skids to a stop in front of him.

“Hope you weren't waiting long.” Sonic said with a smile.

“No, I got here not too long ago.” Shadow said, holding out his hand for Sonic to take it.

He paused, looking at Shadows' hand. His usual instinct is to take it but never in public. Now Shadow was initiating the physical touch and he was at a loss.

Sure, they agreed to not hide their relationship. But Sonic never imagined that truly meant they would be open about it. Let alone Shadow initiating it.

“Sorry, am I going a little fast?” Shadow said. Half joking but there was a twinge of worry in his tone.

“No!” Sonic said quickly, taking Shadow's hand. “I just got lost in my thoughts. Any stalls you want to show me?”

“Yes, there's a stall that makes different kinds of chili that I think you'll enjoy.” Shadow said, leading the way.

“Oh heck yeah!” Sonic said with a cheer.

They walked around the stalls looking at things and talking about their friends. Both are still hyper aware of how people reacted around them while they held hands. It wasn't ever hostile but people definitely noticed.

Hopefully the world is ready to see them.
