I don’t draw this side of Zlatomir nearly as much as I should. That lil calligraphy raptor.

Art fight attack on @blindecho6 and their character, Abyss!
I had a sleep paralysis experience last week so I thought I’d share a few posts going over my experiences. I’ll start with the ones that happened when I was a kid.
The first time it happened was in middle school.
One night, after a pep band performance, me and a friend were walking home from the middle school. It was night, and there was a full moon, so everything was slightly illuminated by cold, blue light.
We passed by this old house that always gave me weird vibes. Interestingly, that house was torn down recently. But as we passed it, my friend looked behind me, and his face went cold. He just took off running. He didn’t even tell me what happened. I ran after him, assuming he saw something terrifying. We ran all the way to my house, several blocks away.
We went down, into the basement, where my bedroom was. I kept asking him what he saw, but he kept refusing to tell me. Finally I coaxed it out of him. He said that when he looked back, he saw the dilapidated shack in the house’s back yard. The side of the shack was illuminated by the moon. He saw a human-shaped shadow appear to rise out of the ground, and that’s when he started running.
Before he could finish the story, a framed picture flew off of my wall, almost hitting me. Without saying anything, we agreed to never talk about it again. In my mind, I just sort of accepted that what ever that shadow was, it seemed to have followed me home.
Well, a few days later, I woke up in the middle of the night, unable to move. Clearly sleep paralysis. My room was completely dark, but I could distinctly see a very tall shadow standing at the foot of my bed. It was wearing a bowler hat. Strangely, it was holding hands with a smaller shadow, roughly the size of a child. They both stood there for what felt like hours, watching me. I kept pretending to be asleep. I would close my eyes, and tell myself it’s not real. Then open them back up, and sure enough, they were still there. Eventually, I fell back asleep.
I never saw those specific shadows again, but I knew immediately that it was the same shadow that my friend saw a few days before.
A few years later, I was still living in that room. And one night, I had my first experience with astral projection. In my dream, I got out of bed, and saw my body still laying there. Confused, I decided to go upstairs. I walked into the kitchen, when something enormous violently grabbed me from behind. It lifted me into the air, and it felt like a force of evil was trying to possess me. The feeling was so intense that it woke me up.
That same year, I was taking a nap in my room. My arms were behind my head in that stereotypical “relax pose”. I was in deep sleep. And I was awoken to a finger, very forcefully jabbing me in the armpit. It was so painful. My eyes immediately shot open, and nobody was there. For several minutes I could still feel the pain.
be careful of what creeps in the shadows 👀

Happy Friday the 13th!
Revenge for Alpineheart on ArtFight
You stare up at the house, which was up on very, very tall stilts. This area used to flood a lot, so it makes sense that the houses would be on top of stilts but why was this one... so much taller than the others? You ponder for a moment before suddenly feeling very uneasy and immediately pushing the question out of your mind. You walk up to the ladder, grab the rungs, and start your ascent.
You arrive at the top, some 10 minutes later, breathing heavy and drenched in sweat. You curse softly, taking off your jacket and tying it around your waist. You get up, dust yourself off. Then go up to the door. It's ajar. This makes that feeling of unease come back. You shrug it off, place your gloved hand on the wood, and step inside.
You immediately inhale some dust, coughing. You think to yourself how old this place must be. You lift your shirt up, covering your nose and mouth. Try to save your sinuses at least a little bit. Wouldn't wanna trigger those allergies :). You look around the large room. A living room, by the looks of it. There's a TV and a couch, an old SNES sitting on the floor by the black shelf the TV is on. It's a mess though, books and papers and little trinkets all over the floor. You peer into the darkness. There's a large bookshelf tipped over on the other side of the room. In front of a door. With two very large handprints on it. Hm.
You try the light switch and let out an annoyed groan when it doesn't work. You swing your backpack off one shoulder and grab a flashlight out of it. You put the backpack back on your shoulder and turn the flashlight on. You swing the beam of light around the room. There's a flash as it hits the doorway leading into a kitchen. Broken glass on the floor. Hm.
Not wanting to risk getting yourself cut, you decide to stay in the living room for now. You walk to the middle, seeing combination VHS and DVD player on the shelf below the one the TV is on. You haven't seen one of those in years! There's also a box beside the shelf. You look in. It's filled with old VHS tapes. Score! You could totally sell some of these to the old guy at the crusty video store. Maybe get enough money for food. Or a better sleeping bag.
You carefully search through the box. A bunch of movies you've seen before, some you haven't, some "cult classics", a couple seasons of [REDACTED]. You know, normal stuff. But one catches your eye. You pick it up, wipe the layer of dust off with your hand.
''s Skyline Interview(?) Tape Submission'
The part of the label before the apostrophe and S has been torn off. Someone's name, probably.
You're intrigued by this one. You want to watch it now. You need to watch it now. So, you try the power button on the TV. Miraculously, it flickers on. You turn on the VHS (and DVD!) player, then slide the tape in. You hit play.
There's some crashing and swearing off screen before someone sits in the chair placed in the middle of the living room, fixing their hair. They have black hair, green eyes with slitted pupils, and a fair complexion. They have on a pair of glasses, a white button up, underneath a black suit vest with a red tie. They have... things sprouting from their head... are those cat ears??? They clear their throat and straighten up the papers in their lap before they speak.
"Hello my name is-" there is an ear-piercing squeal as the screen goes black for a second. Then it comes back and the sound stops.
"-and this is my video submission to become an intern at the Skyline News Tower. Um.." They look down at their papers, reading for a moment.
"I have a variety of skills and I think that I would be a wonderful addition to Skyline. I-"
They're cut off as a crash is heard off screen. The person (cat....person?) rolls their eyes and huffs, an ear flicking in annoyance. They look to the side, to the kitchen, and shout at someone- or something- off camera. Was that... Latin..?
The noise stops and they sigh, looking back at the camera.
"As I was saying. I have great organization skills and am good at keeping track of things. I don't complain, and I will normally do the things I am asked. Even if it's cleaning. I'm good at keeping my temper under control during professional situations. I'm good at making people listen to me, and I think I have some good ideas for the news station. Overall, I think I would make the workplace much better. Thank you for listening. If all goes well, the," their face suddenly goes flat and emotionless, their eyes glazed and unfocused. They resume speaking in a monotonous voice, "Beings," They stay like that for a minute, staring blankly into the camera. The edges of the screen start to turn fuzzy and black.
After enough time to make the energy in the room incredibly uncomfortable, they begin speaking again like nothing happened.
"-will pick me up a few days after I submit this tape. Again, thank you very much for considering me for this job."
They get up from the chair and go towards the camera. Right before it's turned off, the screen glitches and you swear you saw a very tall shadow standing off to the side. Next to a bookshelf.
The tape switches off and the VHS player makes a little click. You're left staring into your reflection in the TV screen. Not wanting to move from your spot. Then, you see it. A large shadow. Behind you. Where the bookshelf used to be. Your heart starts pounding and a heavy pit of dread settles in your stomach. You tell yourself, BEG yourself not to turn around and look, but you do it anyways. You stare where it's eyes would be. Then, it moves. Quickly. And everything goes black.
