Fuck it Sonic AU idea:

In an attempt to save Maria, her grandpa decides to inject a sample of Shadow’s DNA in her. When she gets shot by GUN the Black Arms DNA contained in it triggers and save her life and it gives her superpowers.

GUN then proceed to brainwash the girl into thinking that she was a poor orphan experimented on by the mad scientist Gerard Robotnik and turn her into a loyal agent of GUN.

She never thought too much about her missing memories or her past before Shadow reappeared, causing some fragmented memories to reemerge and making her powers unstable.

I apologize if this is inaccurate, I am not familiar with the Sonic franchise (since the SatAM era), and never played the games. I hope this is good starter for you. No need to have carnal relations with it.

Series: Sonic the Hedgehog AU Criteria: Shadow's the key to saving Maria, sadly GUN decides to invalidate the experiment by shooting her. AU title (optional): ShadowCore

After being shot, Maria gets Shadow sent off in the Escape pod, as a strange darkness begins to consumer her, turning her hair pitch black, coating her in a layer of fine reddish black fur, and her fingers turning into vicious claws that tear through most of the GUN squad before she is subdued. Despite many wounds that should have killed a normal human, when she passes out, her body reverts to her human form, with no injuries visible.

GUN turns her into an agent for them, her illness gone after her transformation. She is a ruthless and savage creature at their control, with no memories of her past… until she sees Shadow and he calls her by her name. This awakens her memories that were locked away, and causing great strife inside her.

This internal strife causes her to go rogue, attacking random targets, never fully able to be predicted, as she would shift targets seemingly on a whim. But she would always stop when the targets could not attack and seemed to have a soft spot for younger kids, many of whom just seemed to enjoy petting her.

In the calmer moments, when being pet, she is able to process her raging thoughts and memories until finally she is able to find Gerard Robotnick's journal, which helps her to align these thoughts into the truth.

With GUN hot on her heels, Maria sets out to find her little brother, to reunite with Shadow once again and then to run off to be a family with him. She is helped out by a hammer wielding pink hedgehog and her green friend. (Amy and Surge eventually)
