A couple years ago a writer and an illustrator named Attilee (that's ME!) and Soupy created this collaboration set in a world where all the characters are shadows, and everyone is divided into a caste system based on the position of the sun.

A long time project (try four+ years now) of mine and one of my dearest friends flintlock​  has been boldly, but still softly optioned for a TV pilot/series by the actor/director/writer/all around regular Joseph Gordon-Levitt! Still trying to return to planet Earth as I currently try to scramble all of mine and flintlock​‘s ideas together, as all the while too many other talented HitRECorders have begun taking their own stabs at Shadow Caste piloting <3 we’ll see how it all goes, so thrilled.

Do you think homeworld has a caste system? Is a pretty popular headcanon

That would be fantastically interesting, and something I can see playing out quite naturally from what (loose) information we’ve been provided on the Homeworld. Theories on Pearl being considered a lesser being (either by being a servant, or sub-class of Gem for varrying reasons), as well as any negative biases held towards Gems like Amethyst to me indicate there’s obvious prejudice, which could lead to probable segregation by duty and affiliation. Rebecca’s recent interview comments are certainly swaying me towards this theory as well. It’s just a matter of figuring out how ‘organized’ or ‘systemized’ the Homeworld is in their classification of Gems.

I may have a bit of a bias though, from my own fiction work- I’ve written and have had a hand in designing a world that is shaped by a caste system, Shadow Caste!

You really don't have to read this. In fact I wouldn't. It's really unfiltered and stupid and ew. Shadowween just brings out lots of thoughts about Shadows it seems.

what if i made a 'What Shadow Being Are You' personality test?

I feel like some people would be really sad if they didn't get Gloam, like some people getting upset when they don't fit in their house at Hogwarts.

THEN AGAIN. Shadows are like people, one personality doesn't really encompass all that shadowiness, they all have different likes and dislikes and asdkfjla;ksdjflkasdjfioasjf this is why it makes it so complicated for me to write/envision/create complicated shadow plot stuff in my head because I want shadows to be a reflection of people in the world but it's hard and ohmygod stop typing.

I feel like Gloam are the most loved shadows though....but maybe that's just because there's so much freaking Gloam art out there...then again that Tenumbra thing...waht is that.  I still don't understand. Still that dude is nowhere near as scary as Fauxbeams.
