@sonic-au-august First Steps

Orphan siblings Shadow and Maria didn't have anyone but themselves before Mayor Whinnyham took them in. They were found roaming the streets of Mobodoon just a few years after the Queen had fled with her own children. Because of the nature of her retreat, the mayor thought it best to keep watch over the little hedgehog and the sister he held so close to. They were inseparable, and while Maria became accustomed to others and being cared for faster than Shadow had--a relief, because she hadn't the strongest of bodies--he gradually eased up around Mayor Whinnyham and the few they frequently came in contact with as well. Mobodoon was a safe space for anyone, but the mayor couldn't help but worry for the two's safety should the threat her Queen had left to fight against end up knocking at their door.

@sonic-au-august Importance and Destiny

These two kind of fit together for this au, with the Hedgehogs being important to destiny and their destiny being the driving factor for the Hedgehogs.

For Impotance, I have the Royal Hedgehogs. Their birth pretty much heralded everything: the prophesy, Robotnik’s takeover, the whole chain of events that lead up to them having to save it all.

And for Destiny, I thought it’d be fun to draw one of the Oracle’s magical visuals of the prophesy that he shows them when they visit.

When Robotnik got ahold of Shadow, he expected the perfect weapon. A key to finding and destroying the royal hedgehogs. All he had to do was manipulate the truth about his lost sister, and the world would be his for the taking.
