Though they kept going towards the safe zone... he had to stop them. He had to step in.

That other guy!

Knuckles couldn't remember his name, but he was the quiet hedgehog who always hung around Rouge.  The Guardian didn't really have an opinion of him, but he kind of liked Rouge, even though she treated him oddly.  She liked to pinch his cheeks and talk in a weird voice at him, and the black Mobian would always linger around and give her odd looks.  Though he didn't know the other well, Knuckles didn't have anything against him, either.  It was pretty peculiar, however, that he would show up on the island, in Sandopolis

Knuckles hardly noticed his off-color stripes.

He jogged up to the hedgehog, sticky with sweat under the hot sun, kicking up sand as he moved.  "You!"  If only he could remember his name.  Oh, well.  He would probably find out.  He stopped in front of the android, taking deep breaths, worn out, holding a hand over his face to shield his eyes from the sun.  Taking pauses to breathe as he spoke, the echidna slowly asked, "You.. friend of Rouge?  Here?"  He tried to cover his confusion as best as he could.
