Dark shadow is blind and grabbed the wrong guy

Shadowdeku is so good my god. Like it’s a boy who is obsessed with quirks and a living sentient quirk.

Izuku could not stop thinking about shadow the second they met. He was immediately enamored with shadows power and versatility and intellect. And for Shadow, izuku is the first person to immediately meet them and not only praise them but treat them like a person. I’m going insane.

And then! Midoriya starts actually getting to know shadow as a friend and sees they are so caring and funny but also very traumatized and impulsive and they just have so many layers to their character. Midoriya loves all of them anyway, that little enigma, but shadow doesn’t believe they are worthy of izuku’s love. They never pursue anything because they believe izuku can do so much better. And Midoriya isn’t interested in starting any relationships either because he’s focusing on his dream of becoming a hero. But even though neither of them are looking for romance their relationship still gets closer over time with shadow often pushing their way into izukus life because they really just can’t stay away no matter how hard they try.

Shadow is a casual flirt, they like to make people react, make people notice them. And they do flirt with izuku but it’s different, no one notices, but it is. And of course izuku gets flustered but that’s just how shadow is, it doesn’t mean anything. And Shadow has a habit of leaning in close. So close that if you moved forward just a bit your lips would touch their beak. Is this an act of intimidation? Yes, but also they know their prey wants to kiss them very badly and is happy to make the first move. So shadow will lean in close all the time to izuku hoping that one day he’ll lean forward too….but he doesn’t. Because izuku is insecure and nervous and doesn’t know anything about relationships. And shadow could just ask him if he wants a kiss but…is it so wrong for shadow to want someone else to initiate for once? Is it so wrong to be wanted?

And then they both graduate and don’t talk for years and shadow still thinks izuku is better off without them. Except every night izuku looks up at the starts and moon and thinks about them.
