Never be free (Rp inspired One-Shot)
Fangs had felt nothing but pin from Jetfire's words but pain. He only had made her decision easier. She had told him only briefly about the procedure, but not in detail that it would most likely kill her in the process of having it done.
She figured that if it would stop her from feeling so much pain that she felt in this moment, anything would be worth it.
Over the next few months she remained in the med bay for monitoring as Ratchet had concerns about how withdrawn and depressed she had become. The news of the possibility that Sunstreaker might never wake up was another factor that played into her depression.
RedAlert would attempt to come and check on her and try to rekindle their friendship, but Fangs made it apparent she did not want him around nor had intentions of being his friend after he went after her former partner. She refused out right to be treated by him and made it explicitly clear.
He had tried apologizing to her, but he knew deep down in his spark there was nothing he could say to ease her pain. He was with the mech she wanted and he knew truly that Jetfire didn't truly love him, he was a means to an end. The former seeker didn't want to admit to himself he still loved the predacon. There relationship was nothing but physical, it was far from meaningful and he truly was growing tired of being used as an outlet.
With Fangs, she felt she was bound to a bot who was to never recover. The other mech she loved she would never get to be with, she decided that perhaps deserting was the only option for her. She had been mulling the option over for quite sometime and now was seeing that this would be the better way.
She waited until night , when she knew no bot else would be awake. That's when she decided to get up and start planning. She went to the command center and started her research and best options for her deserting through the spacebridge. That was the only way off this hunk of dirt anyways.
It took her days, but she had finally come up with a means on how to get out of here. She was to travel herself alone by the cover of darkness, she would wait until it was a cloudy night to give her even better element of stealth. She would disable the guards and make her way to the control panel, quickly type the one time co-ordinate code and leave.
She would leave a note for Ironhide and Chromia that she would return for Shimmer once the sparklings were born, but now she couldn't she had to leave she couldn't stand to be here any longer. It wasn't like she would be missed, Jetfire hadn't even showed the least bit of interest in wanting to be a sire.
It was the night before she was going to to leave, she was sitting in the command center studying everything that she needed to know about her plan. The co-ordinates, the path. Everyting, EVERYTHING had to be perfect. She could not afford for any mistakes or it would be her last.
She sighed, content with herself that this would be what sets her free of this pain. Nothing could ruin this, nothing it was a flawless plan.
That's when the command center lights came on. She looked up, meeting the optics of Optimus Prime staring at her before he came over and seen the notes she had been studying.
A mixed look of concern and disappointment corssed his face before he slowly sat down. "Running away will not solve your problems Shadowfangs...think clearly about this." He said softly.
"I am thinking clearly." she said standing up, gathering up her notes. "Sunny will never wake, Jetfire can't stand the very sight of me. You cannot expect me to sit here and be tortured everyday. I belong in the colonies with my own kind.." she said quietly. "or what's left of them."
"Shadowfangs.." he started, but she stopped him.
"Optimus, I've made up my mind. I'm sorry." she said as she set her insignia on the desk. "I can't stay here. I've already programmed notes to be sent who I want them to be sent to and I will return for my daughter." she said before she walked out the door. "Please ensure her safety."
She didn't plan on getting caught, she had to move tonight. She gathered what few things she had and she left in her predacon form. She ran straight for the space bridge. She could see it coming up in the horizon.
She was so focused on getting there, being free she didn't hear the jets behind her. The last thing she saw was the spacebridge before everything went black. She was hit by Starscream's null rays three times from behind then they left her to die in the desert.
