Shadow girl

It feels like sadness is pouring out of my skin and no matter how many plasters I put over the holes it bursts through regardless it feels like I'm not even me anymore some days I'm there like the sun so blindingly happy and other days more often than the other I'm full of shadows suffocating under the weight of words that are to raw and red and angry to see the light of day. I don't want to be this shadow girl I want to be my namesake the sunrise something so good and lovingingly warm and gentle but I'm not I'm this girl made of claws and snarls who shakes like instead of a heart it's a volcano and Instead of words it's a avalanche of anger

I'm so tired of being angry and sad I feel like my soul is dotted in black and blue bruises and the only time I'm happy is around him he's the one person who can take the brunt of the hurt and stick back together the cuts and bruises

i need to escape to the wild and become a feral starving creature with a lust for life and a hunger that won't be quenched by TV screens and fake food I need to become something before nothing takes over and I become another mindless drone in a world of sad people with happy masks on
