Almost done rereading Salamandastron, and just.

Everyone except for three people in the Abbey contracted Dryditch fever. If Thrugg and Dumble hadn’t left on the quest to get the Flowers of Icetor, if there was no hope. . .would there have been a mass exodus, like with Loamhedge? Would they dying have had to be left behind? Or would they hole up and hope some survived?

Considering that the Shadowslayer illness that plagued Loamhedge is still unknown, I feel like Redwall had a close call. They knew what the illness was, that it could be cured, and how to cure it. If they hadn’t. . .

Just. I have a lot of feelings about Loamhedge Abbey and Abbess Germaine. Redwall was her dream, her ‘redemption’ of the tragedy of Loamhedge. To have that lost as well?

Anyways, yeah no they’re fine I just latch onto angst.
