More Early Conrail
Once again, Conrail is one month old here. This train is westbound, about two miles west of Avon Yard, in central Indiana. We’re on the Big Four/New York Central/Penn Central line between Indianapolis and St. Louis.
The location is south of the town of Avon along South County Road 625 E where White Lick Creek flows. The lead locomotive is an SD40 built for the Pennsylvania in 1966.
