Is Uttering “La ilaha illa Allah” Enough To Enter Paradise?
It was said to Al-Ḥasan Al-Basrī (rahimahullāh): وَقِيلَ لِلْحَسَنِ:
Indeed, the people say that “Whoever testifies that none has the right to be worshipped except Allāh will enter Paradise.” إِنَّ نَاسًا يَقُولُونَ: مَنْ قَالَ: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ،
So he (i.e. Al-Ḥasan) replied: “Whoever testifies that none has the right to worshipped except Allāh فَقَالَ: مَنْ قَالَ: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ،
And then he fulfills its rights and obligations, فَأَدَّى حَقَّهَا وَفَرْضَهَا،
They will enter Paradise.” دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ.
