Finally watching S9 and I know I'm supposed to be pissed at Fiona for drinking but instead I'm just pissed at Lip for being an asshole. The guy he was sponsoring wasn't Fiona's responsibility and there was no reason for her to care about him. And there was nothing Fiona could have done about the surprise visit from the social worker. She was right - Lip should have told her there might be a surprise inspection so she could have prepared (not that she would have, but at least in that case Lip would be much more justified in his anger).

For some reason, whenever they put Fiona in a downward spiral, the writers always choose to focus on things that aren't actually her fault rather than the things she willfully destroys. And I've never understood that choice. I kind of hate Lip right now for taking his frustration with himself and the situation out on Fiona. And that sucks because Fiona is genuinely fucking up in other areas and I feel like I'm supposed to be on Lip's side. But I can't be when he's kicking Fiona out for things beyond her control.
