a personal post where i yap and share my love for the profession im studying!!
one of the things i adore about studying architecture and renovation is the chance to visit places that arent accessible to public (some of them e.g. over 800 y.o.) and today we visited a palace in the northern region of czechia. we even had a chance to watch the renovation works they are doing rn and visited a newly refreshed stable and a half-demolished orangery!!! the palace isnt that old (built in 16-17 century) but it was in a very sad state for almost a century
Fun Fact! the noblemen of the habsburg dynasty were known to be skilled in different fields of crafts JUST IN CASE the monarchy falls and they have to find themselves a new livelyhood :D
SO the orangery was build by a habsburg kaiser (the last crowned king of the czech kingdom ferdinand I), who was a very passionate botanist. he ordered the orangery to be wealthy decorated and made a grand representative place and this year some of my groupmates are going to have a project where they renovate the place!!
i dont like studying archi because of many reasons but days like today are very inspiring and make me think that maybe the suffering every semester and the mental problems it gave me is kinda worth it :'D
