The Savior’s Respite. A place of noble sacrifice -- or so the books Mitsuru has read say. She certainly doesn’t have any plans to sacrifice herself or anyone else, but she feels the urge to visit nonetheless; not only is it a place steeped in Spirale’s history -- and as such could hold clues to what both the city and Radial Island are -- but sitting there amongst the flowers at the cliff’s edge makes her ever more aware of her mortality and the sacrifice she herself had almost made, only a few months ago.
“Give them strength! Take my life if you must!” She can hear her own voice echo within the depths of her mind, a desperate plea made when she believed all their efforts had been exhausted. The twin leaders had disappeared after the battle, and, not knowing what to do, she and the rest of SEES had been willing to give everything for them to succeed and defeat Nyx once and for all -- and thankfully they hadn’t had to. In the end, the only sacrifice had been their memories...and even then she had regained them again, though the remembrance of living in ignorant bliss until the end of the school year still manages to send a chill down her spine.
Her eyes have been closed as she reflects, a gentle breeze blowing through her hair. It’s been a while since she has felt such complete and utter peace, and as she opens them once more, it comes as a surprise for her to see someone else there, a woman gazing at her rather curiously. Not knowing what to say -- or if she should even say anything -- she remains silent for a moment more, until a few words leave her lips: “It’s beautiful here, isn’t it?”
