hi shamsi i am sick in the head and its everyone who recced gtn to me's fault. i wanted to save this when i had the copy of harrow in my hands because i love the physical weight of a book that will make me crazy and my city library has it and i finally carved the time to embark to my public library #mypubliclibrary
i have no prediction i literally cannot even conceive predictions i am so overcome with insanity. i remember seeing a post you (or maybe another mutual) reblogged before i could scroll fast enough to avoid spoilers (like how i always do for tlt posts) about how htn doesnt have gideon before i finished and i was like hmm i wonder where she goes. and now. well now i Know. and im actually completely normal about it. (lying)
i love the sixth house i wish i could squeeze palamedes and camilla super tight until i feel their bones crack and wrap them in my arms forever i can't articulate anything else. palamedes makes my heart hurt the reason why he studied medical science so devoutly and the matter of fact way camilla mentioned it had me staring into the wall as everyone around me lines up to board the flight i was rendered motionless. him and harrow want to be best friends so bad and camilla and gideon have like such best friends potential like both pairs are the perfect best friends forever i know in my heart. his [REDACTED] scene with Not dulcinea. okay kill me now. the part where gideon is like he told me to tell u he loves you and camilla is like what? no he didn't? and gideon is like no he said you'd know what to do and shes like yeah. i do GOD. i can be normal about these people for sure. and i know muir was going to name palamedes something different (it was in my copy but i returned it and im forgetting exactly what name it was) except it wouldn't have given us the absolutely awesome and stupid as fuck sex pal joke which i love normal amounts as well
a lot of my thoughts can be contained through *SCREAMING* and also my review: "i finished this book just before my plane took off and then had to spent the next seven hours of international time travel in absolute awe and shock at what i just read. apologies to my seat mate who probably saw me stare into the wall and heard me say 'what the fuck' and 'i feel crazy' more times than i can count. i. have no words actually im going to hold everyone’s hand when i say this but i need the world to explode and also a copy of harrow the ninth in the next hour. whichever is easiest. tamsyn muir you will forever be famous because your skill with the pen knows no bounds."
but i will leave with two thoughts. one: i loveeeee how lesbian this book is gideon is a flaming lesbian and it is PERFECT. every man is described so perfunctorily like gideon doesn't even want to waste pagetime on them and every woman has odes that fill pages in regards to a hint of ankle. it's beautiful and incredible and i love it. two: there's a lot of lines i remember but cannot quote exactly from memory but muir's skill with the pen is like unmatched not just the actual plot the way she writes fight scenes the slow mystery the death and harrow and gideon's actual relationship and just EVERYTHING but her actual wording is also so fucking good there are sooo many lines that i just LOVE because of clever they are UGH! it's so so fucking good. one of the books that reminds me how powerful and how hard writing is, and despite some of the garbage i read, writing incredible stuff like that would always be the goal. god i cant believe it took me this long to read it.
