Shamsudin quits as Selangor Opposition chief
SHAH ALAM, Dec 8, 2014:
Sungai Burung State Assemblyman, Datuk Shamsudin Lias (BN) today resigned as the Opposition chief and also rejected the position of the State PAC chairman.
He also returned the official car which was given to him for holding the Opposition chief’s position.
Shamsudin arrived at the State Legislative Assembly building about 9.45am and then surrendered the keys to the Toyota Camry to Elya Marini Darmin, who is the Selangor State Secretary.
At a press conference later, Shamsudin alleged that this was to safeguard his integrity and he did not want to be made a puppet by the state government.
He also said that he was unhappy over other issues as well, including the composition of the PAC.
