I was too obsessed with the film. Using Photoshop more but still a long way from being good at it at that point.

Also, the monitor I was using back then wasn't calibrated so the edits are very obvious.

Store-Bought Confidant by *shanahben

On our way home from mum's cancer treatments, the car broke. We had to stay in the gas station for God knows how long.

Prior to this, I've already been playing with the words Store-bought Confidant for possible future use as a band name--didn't matter if it was my band or not. I just liked the sound of it so much. Plus the fact that you can play around more with what it means.

The time we spent there felt right, albeit annoying at first. I began to take photos, pretending to gather pegs for the cover art of the band's debut album.

I realized I might as well do something useful while waiting for the car to get fixed.

We got home, I cropped the photos, added text (those orange and red bars were already there) and came up with this.

I still really, really like this even today.
