Hong Kong YT channel ttbert1 uploaded some really nice sets from the first weekend of October, including Felix Felicis 小福氣 & GDJYB 雞蛋蒸肉餅 at Drums Only (we posted about it HERE and HERE).

The other event from that weekend was the *Made in Hong Kong Music (VS Media 天台音樂祭II Rooftop 2) show, featuring Felix Felicis, SilHungMo 小紅帽, Shandy Gan 顏培, and Prune Deer 話梅鹿. 

This is SilHungMo 小紅帽 (Little Red Riding Hood). They combine power pop energy with math-rock precision. Yet they keep the volume very much under control, closer in sound to GDJYB than to a band like Go Go Rise from TW. Quite enjoyable set to watch, these peeps are having loads of fun.  =D

Nice, breezy bossa pop tune from Shandy Gan 顏培珊. Perfect for a drive with the windows down. =D Shandy is on the Hong Kong O.U.R. Works mini label within SONY Music. We featured another song a few weeks ago, CLICK!

Something easy listening to begin the new week, the Hong Kong bossa nova singer songwriter Shandy Gan 顏培珊. This was her first single in 2013, and it is included on her just-released debut album, To Bossa 芭莎的奇想曲. She was just featured on StreetVoiceHK. She is part of something called *O.U.R. Works, which I think is a part of SONY Music HK, a focus on young, indie-type singer songwriters. (the word they use is 'plain', which I take to mean a simpler acoustic style.) Actually, the album promo page at SONY describes her as D.I.Y. bossa songwriter. (D.I.Y. = Do It Yourself) You can hear a preview video of all 8 songs HERE. Nice! =D Update: O.U.R. Works is a mini label within SONY Music HK, signing young acoustic indies. (O.U.R. = Our Uniquely Refreshing)
