i love levian because a!lev is so no-nonsense and it looks like ian’s the same until you get to know about his spoon thing and the comic sans and they bounce off each other so well freaking... monotoneville and i knew from the second lev started to play asagao hed like ian i KNEW it

i love proasa because jared seems to be so well put together and slick on the surface and asa is this raging mess but once you get deeper into their personalities you find out how easily jared can be frazzled and how cool asa is under pressure and they balance each other out so well

i love pauris because iris is a literal ray of sunshine and only deserves the best treatment and paul is such a goofy nerdy boy who tries to be this Well Structured Adult despite his more childish moments and they’re just so sweet together it gives me toothache you can just SEE them holding hands and smiling

i love shanelex because they’re both deadpan snarky little shits that just love each other and they’re so the type to high five after a particularly good comment and be lazy and just lounge around happy in each other’s company??? alex loves him so much it’s so heartwarming to see 

i love pbjackie because despite how much it fucking tears my heart out it has so much potential as jackie is little and bitter and funny and pbg is tall and bitter and dopey and they could have such a cute and sweet time together their dynamic is so intriguing to me ill never stop wanting them to be happy

i love zipleash because it’s my favourite cliche of opposites attract and nug makes shane so happy and drags him kicking and screaming out of his shell and into her more extroverted ways and also shane balances nug out to keep her safe and more grounded and they’re so good for each other that it hurts

shane is quiet around alex’s parents bc his real mean and sarcastic sense of humour might be too strong for them n he wants them to like him bc he likes alex a lot n hes holding alex’s hand under the table and when alex meets shanes parents theyre all shy n keep looking @ shane for reassurance and he gives them these encouraging little smiles

things you said prompts / things you said before you kissed me.

1. darkness coats them like a second skin, making it awfully easy for him to smile. shane is notorious for being hard to approach, but the rooftop pulls inhibitions from him like wet tissue paper, leaves him the open and comfortable boy he’d been before emily, before something in him had changed. 

alex, by his side, leans her head gently on his shoulder, pen scratching at her notebook absently. they had long since lapsed into silence, breathing in unison and staring at the sky, until alex speaks, her voice lax. ‘i’m cold, artist boy.’ he laughs softly, shifting an arm to draw her closer, using his fingertips to tilt her face in his direction. ‘shut up,’ he tells her, before his lips meet hers in a half-smile, spreading heat across her face.

2. seeing her cry is strange, something he will never get used to and he hopes he will never have to witness again. shane consoles her, though he does not overstep boundaries that he has written for himself -- they have similarly fallen and then risen again without the pity of others, and he understands when she needs space and when she doesn’t. 

when she’s calmer, her shoulders relaxed, her breathing slowed, he takes both of her hands in his and makes her look him in the eye. it’s dramatic, but he needs her to hear him. ‘i’m not going anywhere, alex.’ 

he’s barely said the last word before she’s lurching forward, kissing him hard enough to bruise.

3. he’s nervous, and it’s a feeling he hasn’t had to put up with for a while. it makes his palms sweaty and his mouth dry, which only worsens when he sees her. the eyes that he’s fallen in love with pull words from him without even trying, and his disdainful exterior is all that keeps him from stuttering. sometimes, he thanks his monotone voice. ‘do you want to come home with me?’

she falters for just a second, confused, inspecting him though a thin layer of cynicism. shane’s mouth breaks into a thin and weak smile, his only offer of sincerity -- but she believes him. ‘of course i will, idiot!’

then they’re kissing, and he’s not sure what he was ever worried about.

sleep: alex stays up late but so does shane and he turns it into this game one night to see who falls asleep first but because they’re both stubborn assholes they pull an all nighter and then fall asleep together and then argue about who fell asleep first

happy: when they reunite after breaks shane drops the tsun act and picks her tf up and spins her round, alex starts laughing but then remembers she ~hates~ him and tells him to put her tf down

romantic: shane draws all her birthday and christmas and valentines cards because it’s cuter and more personalised that way but sometimes he straight up draws the terrible comic sans ones for her and leaves them as anonymous notes
