I will never, ever complain about more official ShangLin art, but it's extremely funny that the Japanese DVD for the Thunderbolt Fantasy final movie went all-out like this. I wouldn't call it false advertising, exactly, but it is very clear that the marketing department had a specific target audience in mind and 100% nailed it.

Oh, hey, look, it's the ending I wanted on the DVD jacket, drawn by Satoru Minamoto and Sinov Mimori! This is how the movie ends in my heart; thank goodness for fanfiction.

(I appreciate that Urobuchi had A Vision for the final scene and went with it for thematic reasons, but even so I still find it deeply dissatisfying.... and somehow, it still manages to be one of the happiest endings he's ever written, lol.)
