My meal at the Shango Bistro on July 21, Friday, 2017. I had their seafood linguini, but I had it without seafood cause I wasn’t in the mood. Twas yummeh!
Went back to Shango Bistro today and found out they no longer sold my favorite farro risotto in the whole world...Tragedy!!!!! I had some calamari and fried clam strips instead :p Then I had some crostini wif cheese and spiced walnuts for dessert :D
Restaurant Week Review: Shango Bistro

Local Restaurant Week is this week (kind of a rip off [or at least not a great deal] with a soup entree and dessert for $20.13). I was in the mood for a place I never had and creole so Shango Bistro it t'was!
No reservation because that's just how I likes to get down. The dude said 25 minutes which seemed believable so I attacked the bar for a Souther Tier 2x Rye. Not bad and it was still happy hour so I only had to spring $3.25 loose.
A half hour later we were sat and what a coinkidink we were right next to Buffalo Sweats very own Daniel! Buttt, they get a big fancy bread basket and we didn't! Plus they had a candle and ours didn't arrive until mid way through our entree. Phrump.
Me and the misses don't like to deviate so we both got the Penne pasta with shrimp sausage scallops (yummmm) and cajun cream sauce. Actually, I take that back, she didn't get sausage which was some how available (although me thinks someone just went through and pulled the sausage out of hers but who knows.)
I got the soup she got the salad. The soup was good but it tasted too much like the meal but that's my fault not the bistro's. The dipping sauce for the multitude of breads was simply divine even if the bread was just bread.
The desserts were either pumpkin bread pudding or apple and pear tart. Both hit the spot albeit we were both too full to fully enjoy dessert (which is also why I never would normally order it any way).
Overall a really good experience even if I "eat too fast" there was a bit of a "draft" and it was pretty crowded. Also we had to sit next to Danny but it wasn't so bad since he did offer some of his calamari which was declined.
