6.lazy morning kisses before they’ve even opened their eyes, still mumbling half-incoherently, not wanting to wake up

Sleep was coming more naturally to Illidan now, he attributed that to the general sense of ease having Shanarra and the twins back gave him. He had almost died and that had made him realise that he needed to stop worrying so much about what could happen and just enjoy things in the now. It didn’t solve everything but it was helping and that was all he could ask for.

The moonlight was just beginning to poke through the curtains and the creatures of the night were waking to rejoin the world.

He was in no rush to get up quite yet, instead his arm gently reached beyond himself and brushed against his still sleeping mate. Lazily he drew circles on her upper shoulders and back until she began to stir before sliding his arm around her and pulling her closer to him.

“Five more minutes yeah?” She mumbled eliciting a soft  chuckle from him.

“We don’t have to get up yet if we don’t want to.” He agreed and she turned to face him curling up against the warmth of his chest.

He readjusted his hand, absently twirling strands of her hair around his fingers as he did so. His eyes were still extinguished but he didn’t need them to be able to picture how she must look snuggled up to him like this. It still amazed him every day that he had someone this perfect, it was like Elune herself had created the pair of them with each other in mind.

“Look up dear.” He murmured his hand gently running alongside the underside of her chin to get an idea of the position of her face. When he felt her do as he requested he leaned down and kissed her enjoying the feeling of her lips against his, he toned out the noises of bullfrogs outside the window focusing instead on the sound their hearts beating.

He purred as they broke away. “Sooooo maybe we could just cancel today and spend it all in bed. I’m quite enjoying cuddling you.”

7.routine kisses where the other person presents their cheek/forehead for the hello/goodbye kiss without even looking up from what they’re doing

Being a Demon Lord wasn’t easy work and for Illidan it meant that sometimes other parts of his life would have to make way for his work. Especially given that he was demon enough to be able to several days without sleep or sustenance, he knew he shouldn’t but sometimes it worked out that way.

Luckily Shanarra  was an understanding mate not to mention she had her own work to do, mostly making sure that nobody tried to assassinate him...again.  However that didn’t mean that the two didn’t have time for each other.

“I expect the ships to be here and ready to make the jump by the end of the week. I don’t want another incident where the imps lose one.” Illidan instructed a group of Nathrezim glaring down at them from his throne. He caught a shape moving in the corner of his vision but it was one he recognised so he continued.

“What do you want us to do if problems should arise Master?”

Fel flame eyes flared in annoyance “ Punish someone.”  He kept an eye on the figure that was obviously Shan as he talked noticing she had hopped up onto the armrest of the throne and he leaned forward to be closer to her.  A faint smile appearing on his face as she  met him halfway and planted a kiss on his cheek.

“Or perhaps you would like to be set on fire Lothros.” He sneered finishing his thought as if nothing that happened.

15.a gentle “i love you” whispered after a soft kiss, followed immediately by a stronger kiss

Shortly after arriving in Eldre’Thalas Illidan’s health returned thanks to the abundance of left behind mana crystals and the like. It was a relief to the pair of elves that their long struggle to find a safe place to hole up for awhile had ended in sucess.

Illidan was amazed at how much of the city had held up after the sundering but its inhabitants had fled anyway.

He tried not to wander to far off without Shan as he felt he owed it to her to not make her worry that he had gone and disappeared again. He still felt incredibly guilty that he had done that in the first place.

They sat around a small fire after dinner as they usually did, Shan resting her head on his lap as he read to her from a book they had found in their explorations. Illidan noticed that she seemed to be dozing off and so he set the book down and scooped her up instead, standing up to take her back to their tent.  As he shifted her in his arms he gave her a gentle peck on the lips.

“I love you so much Shanarra.” He whispered in her ear.

He was caught off guard by her hand coming up and cupping his cheek gently guiding his head back down toward her. She then kissed him back more aggressively than he had been expecting given that he thought she was half asleep.

He nuzzled her neck breathing in her sweet scent as they pulled away for breath.

“We can continue this back at the tent you know, safer too I’m less likely to drop you.” He teased.

“Hmm yeah that would be unfortunate wouldn’t it.” Shan teased back.

He just smirked and thanked Elune that even after all the tragedy they had faced recently they still had each other and nothing not even the near end of the world could separate them.

Illidan was sat on the floor  in the chamber that housed the upper portion of the Nightwell. His legs crossed with his hands resting on his lap, it was obvious from the deep breaths he took and the look of concentration on his face that he was in some sort of meditative state.

So focused was he that he did not hear Shanarra open the chamber door , nor the feel the slight breeze that accompanied his guest as she entered. He did not move or open an eye as she approached though as she neared the ear closest to her twitched picking up on her footsteps.

Shan had checked the area around him to make sure it was free of runes or other magical objects it would be dangerous for her to disturb but found the area around him to be clear. So she hazarded that whatever he was doing was likely not very intensive. She knelt next to him and planted a  kiss on his forehead.

Illidan’s focused expression dropped and was replaced by a signature smirk. Amber eyes fluttered open and he blinked a few times adjusting to the light.

“I wasn’t expecting you to visit tonight Shan.” He said with a purr “Had I been I wouldn’t have been holed up in here.”

“I thought I’d stop by after class and surprise you, I’m taking it you’re surprised?” She giggled.

“I am. It’s not every night my thoughts get interrupted by a beautiful woman, but you won’t hear me complain about that.” He rolled his shoulders and shifted his weight to get up only to be stopped by Shan kissing his forehead again.

“Don’t get up, you look comfortable there.” She said lowering herself into his lap.

He wrapped an arm around her waist to keep her stable and blushed as her face was now inches away from his.

She leaned in and closed the space between them his hand tangling into her hair as they kissed. He knew he wouldn’t be able to settle down enough to return to his meditation tonight, but he found he really didn’t mind.

Tender kiss prompt (on mobile afk but will send some more tomorrow when I'm back at the pc =) )

Illidan was stressed and restless, such behaviour was common for the half demon but it seemed to be kicked into high gear lately. 

He fidgeted in bed for what was probably the millionth time that night and felt bad that he had probably disturbed his mate, he was considering getting up to go pace in the kitchen or something when suddenly he felt hands on his face guiding it downwards.

The next thing he knew Shan was kissing him lovingly and he felt his worries melt away to silence. All he focused on was her as she was all that mattered in the few moments that they held the kiss. 

He gave a sleepy purr as she broke away to catch her breath and he felt a content smile resting on his face. She really did know how best to handle him.

@guardianshanarra asked for happy Rp memories so I’mma gush about Shan and Illy for little.

God these two have come so far together like damn, I remember when they’d just met and were both very surprised to see each other  ( though who was more surprised to see who is up for debate). 

 Illidan wasn’t the same person he is now, and there’s a reason for that obviously. He was broken, depressed, he’d been alone on Outland for ten years with only demons as company. It would have been totally rational for him  to not even give Shanarra the time of day... But he did. And low and behold slowly but surely she  got through his walls and found the Man underneath. And Likewise Illidan’s been good for Shan too, giving her someone to relate to among the people she felt alienated from.

Then of course they had to win over Mal and Tyrande, one of which was far more stubborn than the other -cough- MAL -cough- 

And now just look at them, living together happily in Night elf lands, they have kids, they have a family.  They’re still just two dorks like they were when they met but now their bond is stronger than ever. The thread where the twins where born was totally adorable. They’ve turned into great parents and I couldn’t be prouder of them.

Now they’re going through a rough patch, with Illy being a ghost and his body in the legions possession, but they’ll get through this. They’re one tough couple and nothing not even Sargeras will keep them apart.

💘 What's your favourite things about Shan? What about your favourite things she does?

“Ahhh My favourite things about Shanarra, by Elune it’s hard to pick out specific things. Her smile, her laugh, the way she gets this spring in her step when she walks towards me.  It’s all the little things about her that make her great.”

“As for things she does again it’s hard to pick specifics. The fact that she’s so willing to work with me on things even if it’s an inconvenience to her,  Or how she’ll just listen if I need to talk about something  that’s bugging me. How just by being around she lightens up my life.”

3.giving them the best back massage they’ve ever had

It was one of those nights, they had the house to themselves  but the happy couple were both too tired to consider their usual routine. That however was ok as Illidan was feeling a bit rough around the edges but not enough to be a grump about it. 

He felt her shift around but as he was currently laying with a face full of pillow and just assumed she was getting a drink or something. However moments later he felt her gentle hand tracing circles on shoulders. A content purr rumbled in his chest as she continued deftly seeking out the sore places without him even having to mention.

The purring continued as Shanarra went along, he was always amazed at how good she was at this. This was an act of intimacy on the same level of anything sexual the pair could do and spoke of just how much he trusted her, enough to trust her to always take the pain away and she always did.
