Shaniqua's mother, Shirley, has made several appearances on the hit series, The Maury Show, in an attempt to find the father of her daughter. Beginning in 1994, after a string of affairs, Shirley began to express doubt that the man she was currently involved with was the father. Funds were low, and a paternity test would have sent them over the designated budget for the month. The only possible way Shirley and her beau could attain a paternity test was via The Maury Show, on live television. Nevertheless, the duo packed up and headed to the filming studio.
"Tyrone . . . you are NOT the father!"
The utterance of those words hit Shirley like a wrecking ball, sending her off the stage kicking and screaming. The man who she assumed to be her daughter's father was nothing more than a fake--a symbol for second-rate parenting. He left her, anyways.
Shirley made 2 additional appearances on the Maury Show, in 2003 and 2010, respectively. Both of those tests came up negative, and 'till this day, nobody knows who the real father of Shaniqua is. While Shirley occasionally intends to test men she had relations within the past, largely, she has reduced the effort. It still remains on their mind.
