talent of plenty? you must have me confused, @carpedzem. 😉
Killian sighs, letting his palms slide from her middle to her thighs, taking in the phantom warmth he’s missed so greatly. Emma Swan is an enigma. She’s centuries of power wrapped in mystery and untold sorrows and it lingers beneath her skin. She’s the first kiss of morning sun, the dark chill of winter, the wild lilacs that grow along the dirt roads of Misthaven. She’s true love’s first kiss and the denial of destiny. She’s nothing and everything, the beginning and the end.
JJ spits at his feet, blood-tinged saliva hitting the mottled earth, a warning. Deke’s lifeless form lays a few feet away, vicious gunshot wound torn straight through his chest. His lackeys are further, bleeding out on the riverbed, a breadcrumb trail of bodies.
“All that for thirty damn dollars?” He huffs, breath coming in short pants as he juts out his chin at the stranger stood before him.
“No, not the money.” The stranger hums, wearing a smile that doesn’t match the hardness of his eyes. His face, shadowed by the sun behind him, is familiar in a way that has JJ’s stomach in knots. He recognises it from the still surface of the river, from polished silver mirrors, from posters bearing his name on town notice boards.
brennan & killian meet up at a bar (prompt pairing)
hello, anon(s)! it seems like two of you had the same idea because i got this same prompt through twice ♥
A pirate walks into a bar.Brennan Sullivan/Killian Jones297 words (i’m sorry lol!)
It had taken Brennan a while to get used to all the faces similar to his own in this little town; there’s the Outlaw and his penchant for thievery, the Detective with his prosthetic hand and classic car, the Preist (that one had been a surprise), and the Preacher with his cabin by the lake. There were others he hadn’t yet met, the Astronaut, the Actor and the Professor to name but a few.
And this one. They call him the Pirate, but Brennan hadn’t been able to figure out why.
“Another?” Rolling his eyes, the Pirate hops onto the only free stool at the bar. The one next to him. Sneed, the Outlaw, had told him what to expect when meeting his most notorious doppelganger but nothing could have prepared him for seeing the man in person. He exuded effortless confidence with every step, wrapped up in leather and stubble and a scowl. On top of all that, there’s the Hook. Brennan hastily made a mental note never to cross him, tucked away alongside lyrics of ocean blue and guiding stars. “This is bloody absurd. I just got used to the last one.”
“‘fraid so.” Brennan shrugs, not too sure what else to say. His decision to stay had been an easy one. Nora wasn’t here. He was. Simple.
“Well then, I believe introductions are in order.” He flags down the bartender with a flick of two fingers and before Brennan can refuse there’s a glass of cool amber being pushed into his hand.
“Killian Jones, at your service.” Clinking their glasses together, he takes a sip, smirking all the while. “Welcome to the madhouse…?”
“Brennan.” Rum, spiced like fire, coats his throat in the all too familiar burn he’d tried so hard to forget.
HOW WAS I NOT FOLLOWING YOU???!!!! Anyhoo, HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMS!!!! I hope you have as FABULOUS a day as YOU are!!! 😘🎂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
THANK YOU SO MUCH, K! ♥ I’ve been having a pretty chill day because of the lockdown but I’m so happy to be surrounded by such wonderful people on here! ♥
Silver for Monsters: “Emma Swan, legendary sorceress and advisor to the throne of Misthaven, missing but a lowly Witcher?” The pale expanse of her neck calls for his kiss, so close and yet so far. “People will talk.”
“I’m Peter. I’m here to help.” How is he going to help JJ? How is Peter still alive? (unless this was before he met Anna)
HELLO ANON!
Thank you for showing interest in my little Sneed/Peter babblings. In all honesty, I hadn’t thought much further into where it was going. I usually don’t with my drabbles— well, actually, I guess they’re ficlets as they usually end up over 100 words, but I thought why the hell not and decided to dive on into the backstory and beyond of whatever was/is/will be going on in that little universe anyway, but beware. It’s a mess under that cut, Anon. Proceed with caution.
So, the first thing I have to cover is that this is, I guess, canon divergence on two fronts... maybe even three... damn... okay, no, starting again. I took the canon portal mechanics of OUAT, canon ending of WSR and implied canon demise of JJ Sneed into my basement and shot them so I could write... whatever this thing is. uh, yeah... moving on!
Peter doesn’t die from Anna’s wound and but he does bleed out quite heavily so, in his delirium, when the portal appears in front of him, he thinks it’s an act of God, some kind of divine intervention, escorting him to heaven and he struggles through it, barely grasping to life...
...and ends up in the United Realms, greeted by a man with his face. He’s mended with a mix of medicine and magic (or miracle) and Peter is convinced he’s in heaven at this point. There are no threats to him here, only people happy to help him back on his feet. There’s no risk of beserkers, no signs of the virus, just peace.
All this peace, all the pleasantries he’s shown by the people here, has him reflecting on the choices he made while he lived his life, the choices he had to make to survive, all the decisions he justified, and yet... none of his flock are here by his side, despite the demise of the commune not long before his altercation with Anna. No one knows of them and he’s tried searching.
He starts to see the cracks in the United Realms, the evidence of wars once fought and evil just beneath the surface. It steel’s his resolve further. He isn’t in heaven. This is just another place, another populace, that needs to be saved.
So you might be wondering, how does this get him to saving JJ Sneed from Deke Fletcher and his gang?
I’m glad you asked, Anon!
Peter, with his heart set on starting anew, steps through the first portal he comes across. Armed with his rifle, replenished survival supplies (including a treasured magic bean that his likeness had tucked into his hand with a whisper of “In case you change your mind, mate.”) and a prayer, he steps from the United Realms and into...
...the end of JJ Sneed. Well, what would have been his end. Should have been his end, really. He’s slung over the back of a horse while it’s rider looks on, sat proud while his friends follow along beside on their own ponies. Peter recognises his own face on the prisoner in an instant only he’s slimmer in the face, with more neatly groomed facial hair and bloodstained clothes.
It barely takes any effort at all for Peter to take them all down, leaving the prisoner until last.
[insert that drabble/ficlet/whatever here]
The prisoner, Sneed, doesn’t trust him. There’s a darkness to him that Peter sees in himself and a fight that he hasn’t seen in a long time. He truly wants to help him, wants to help them both. Seeing the anger he feels, the hurt and betrayal so clearly on his own face, has him reaching for his back pocket before he even realises he’s doing it. Peter doesn’t have the medical capacity to heal his knees, which are impossibly beyond repair, but he knows someone who does.
He throws Killian’s bean to the ground, as instructed, and thinks of the ‘united’ broken land his likeness calls home.
JJ gets fixed up, still distrusting of everyone despite the lack of ill will they hold towards him, everyone except Peter, and Peter, well... he embraces the first member of his new flock.
