Civet coffee was once a rare delicacy, made from the coffee beans found in the excrement of Asian Palm Civets who had eaten coffee cherries. Now it has become all the rage and in Asia "Civet coffee farms" have become the new normal. Farms where civets are kept in tiny cages, often in deplorable conditions and force fed an unhealthy diet of coffee cherries for the express purpose of fast-tracking civet coffee to the thousands of people waiting to pay large sums of money for poop. Due to the squalid conditions they live in and the unhealthy diet of nothing but coffee cherries, the mortality rate of civets at these farms is very high. Ultimately the coffee beans these farms produce is expensive and not nearly as good as the coffee beans collected carefully from wild, free roaming civets who eat only the very best cherries, unlike the caged civets who are force fed anything from good to mediocre to rotten coffee cherries. #ForTheAnimals #savethecivets #freecivets #wildlife #YOUcanmakeadifference #wildisfree #conservation #saynotocivetcoffee #civet #allcreaturesgreatandsmall #allanimalsmatter #green #saveearth #savetheplanet #sharetheearth #love #peace
