ah! i think a lot of people like jess perhaps because they want to interpret her as being a person that people can relate to, especially cause she's a college gal--her entire life story before her appearance in the show isn't divulged and she does come off as "sam's hot gf" but i think people like to explore the ladies in spn especially because they're not treated well in the show.
i guess but out of all of them i dont understand why jess? like... you've got madison who experienced all sorts of physical and emotional and sexual abuse but in the ep managed to not only survive thru it but also stand up to the people who abused her (albeit she died but since when did that ever stop anyone), there was cassie, who was a black woman who had experienced a lot of racism in her life and had a very close bond to her mother, and plenty of others who while honestly not well developed in comparison to the majority of male characters they still had like... substance?
and of course theres also annael and jo and all the older ladies who actually had a fair amount of development and personality beyond being love interests or just minor one-offs
idk like. i dont see how she could be relatable at all? shes only actually onscreen for ~5 scenes and the rest is just pretty much sam saying he missed her or that thing of sam "seeing" her bcuz he misses her or w/e. the whole college girl thing... i dont see why that couldnt be the same case for cassie or annael, even tho they werent In college it wouldnt be a stretch to imagine them as having been in college or going to college
but all of this is just my onion obviously
