Ike snorted at the light jab, shaking his head in amusement at Rin’s mood. Seemed the sun was good for more than just swim weather.
It was amazing how fast the two had gotten used to each other, becoming fast friends despite the fact that Ike was only going to be in Japan for a certain amount of time. But, only a few days of knowing each other or not, it was clear that this was another friendship Ike was going to keep -- distance be damned. Rin was comfortable to be around, even if that meant being poolside for a good amount of time.
“What can I say? I’m not built for extreme heat,” he shrugged, sputtering a bit at the end of his sentence when he got splashed. “Hey! Opening fire without a proper declaration of war -- not fair!” Ike shouted, though he couldn’t keep a slight laugh out of his tone.
If there was one thing that could get Ike to discard his discomfort of water for the most part, it was an obvious poke to instigate a play-fight of some sort like this. It wasn’t long before he was on his feet, and launching himself into the pool -- canonballing beside Rin, so that the other teen would get splashed. Still, even the fun of it couldn’t completely make Ike forget his fear; panic was quick to rise when he was fully submerged by the water, and it only took him a second of reorienting himself before he kicked off the bottom and got his head above water once more.
“Oh, yeah, that’d be fair. Star swimmer against the guy who has mastered -- the doggy paddle. I’m a real threat to your title there, Rin.”
