- Was involved with Kane Co since he was 10, Kane treated him like a son even though Isra and Scott (his mom and stepdad) were still around
- Didn’t become a commander until he was 15, after his mother died from what doctors labelled a terminal illness (weird how his stepdad died from a similar “terminal illness” two years earlier…)
- After leaving Deluxe, he was found by Jacob and taken in
- Has naturally wavier hair, he straightens it
- Struggles alot with adjusting to being under Jacob’s care at first, especially due to trauma from Kane Co., he genuinely freaked out the first time he dropped something and broke it
- After Chuck followed him down to Motorcity, he, Chuck, Jacob, and Texas unanimously decided yeah lets OVERTHROW THE GOVERNMENT
- Who needs a license when you could hit SICK ASS CAR TRICKS???
- Jacob knows about his father and sister; but initially never said anything out of fear it would only make Mike act recklessly against Kane
- Speaking of especially in the AU he cares more about others lives than his own (spoiler for the au uhhh he fucking sacrifices himself to save motorcity and the encampment from getting blown up but it’s okay the bullshit pendant saves him; it’s a stupid ass plot point that needs no further explanation)
- Aside from that his ass does NOT sleep, Julie genuninely knocks his ass out when she and the others find out
- That one joke in the pilot, “he wants to destroy us and our cars? But we love our cars :(“ yeah.
- Bilingual, English and Arabic esp bc his mother would speak it alot when talking to him
- Doesn’t really like being vulnerable around others, but it’s easy to tell when something is upsetting him bc he gets all sulky and depending on the circumstance gets super pissed off or shuts down
- Takes more looks from his dad, easier to see with their eyes and general build
- Implied Mitch kinda halfassed with his name bc Mike was his turn to name the baby. Michael 💕 right after naming his daughter after PANTS/ j
- That near death (actual death for a sec) experience he has in the AU traumatizes the FUCKKK out of him, sometimes questions if he’s really still alive and panics because of it
- Worlds most oblivious mf especially when it comes to Chuck
- Accidentally becomes Revi’s (OC) big brother and is always scolding her or patching her up after she gets into trouble, but he’s still the first one she runs to when she’s scared
- Anxious around Capri bc he barely knows her and gets overexcited bc holy shit I have a SISTER I can’t wait to tell her my life story!! and he doesn’t know how to handle it so it manifests as him being super awkward and nervous to even talk to her. He warms up eventually
- Gets alot of migraines
- Super protective of the Burners (way more than usual) following S1
- Claustrophobic and gets jumpy in overly sterile looking environments, even if he tries to hide it
- Type of mf to chug a singular energy drink, not eat anything for the whole day, and wonder why he feels like absolute shit
- He will never follow Texas alone anywhere ever again the last time he did was when he first got down to Motorcity and they both ended up being chased by a gaggle of mutant rats after Texas thought it would be funny to ram into their nest with his car (they all lived) (mike was scarred for life)
- Learned a bit of mechanic knowledge from Dutch
- Has a hard time figuring Julie out, he MIGHT know she’s Kane’s daughter, he might not, but he’s definitely worried about her alot esp in the AU when he accidentally pisses her off after trying to put her and the teams best interests in mind

Chuck Andersen
Age: 16- 17
DOB: February 2nd
Sexuality: Bi
- Inspired by alot of hcs I saw on AO3 he was an intern in the tech division of Kane Co, he got into a good school by recommendation from his mentor
- His parents are anxious messes just like him, often too focused on his 5 younger siblings to care much about what he does. Although after he left Deluxe they suddenly started caring
- They aren’t bad parents, but they aren’t good parents either. Often responded to super impressive achievements of his with “that’s cool honey, can you make dinner for your siblings tonight?”
- His siblings are 13, 10, 8, 5, and 2 respectively. The oldest of which is his sister Eliza who has just started as a cadet at Kane Co. much like Darr. 2 of his siblings (the 10 and 5 year old) are adopted
- He and Mike befriended each other when they were both very little, and Chuck ended up following him down to Motorcity after he had a pretty significant promotion blown off by his parents
- What’s the worth in staying if the closest people to you don’t seem to give much of a shit about your accomplishments?
- Needless to say he feels alot more appreciated w/ the Burners
- Has a crush on both Mike and Claire; doesn’t have alot of ideas on how to go about it, although his crush on Mike is alot more hidden/ secretive and hasn’t really confided in anyone about it
- Aside from being terrified of everything he SOMEHOW trusts Mike with not fucking getting them wrapped around a lamp post at 400mph
- If any of the other Burners ever drive him around he might gen start writing/ updating his will while in the passenger seat
- Has Swedish and German descent
- His family is loaded; not like Kane level loaded but they can support 6 kids comfortably in a big ass house
Julie Kane
Age: 17-18
DOB: June 23rd
Sexuality: Demisexual biromantic
- Raised lonely with the exception of Claire- was sheltered from the outside world as a child and was homeschooled
- Has always disliked her fathers actions but it ramped up way more after she turned 16; ended up sneaking off to Motorcity after hearing Kane complaining about the Burners and ended up joining them
- Suffers from depression due to her upbringing; it’s laying off now that she’s been less sheltered but it’s still lingering
- Can’t have a cat but she really wants one
- Speaking of this she can’t understand why Chuck is so terrified of kittens
- Genuinely terrified of what might happen if Kane ever finds out she’s a Burner; she’s less apprehensive with the other Burners bc she thinks they’d eventually understand (even if they’d be a bit mad at first at her for lying to them) but she’s seen what Kane has done to people who betray and/or fail him
- Has probably met Mike in passing but never paid much mind to him
- Has some Chinese in her; her mother was mixed race white and Chinese
- Gets cold really easily
- After she turned 16 Kane had stopped sheltering her so much; which is when she found out about all his evildoings
- Wants to travel the world; she’s made a list of countries she wants to visit, the first is England
- Kinda skirts around the topic of being Kane’s kid with Jacob; since he may or may not know
- She’s played around with the idea of her and Mike being a couple at first purely out of the fact it would piss her father off and she did kinda like him for a moment but ultimately decided she’s better off not messing with the idea or causing drama (also she hasn’t known him long enough either)
- Constantly annoyed with the guys when they’re being dumbfucks; tolerates Dutch the most
- Panics after Connie (OC) reveals that she knows her secret, but decides to handle it herself
- Now living a TRIPLE life because of the point above, she’s starting to crack under the stress
- Kinda pulls away from the Burners a bit into the S2 AU (after they arrive at the Encampment); she already beats herself up alot over Mike and Texas already having been captured by Kane (especially Mike considering… yeah) and doesn’t want them getting hurt anymore (sorry Jules uhh the end of the S2 AU,,,)
- Had to pretend to be shocked when Kane said that Claire was no longer allowed to hang out with her because she was hanging around the Burners (little does he know)
Dutch Gordy
Age: 19
DOB: August 28th
Sexuality: Pansexual
- He and Darr had another older brother named Luv who worked as an engineer for Kane Co., he died from mysterious circumstances while working there; implied to be from poor working conditions. Kane Co had covered it up; and Dutch figured out what really happened before he left for Motorcity
- Alot of his mechanic knowledge was self taught or stuff Luv had taught him
- Being persecuted for making art had detered him away from Deluxe; but learning that Kane Co killed his older brother was the final straw
- Weirdly enough, he became part of the Burners through Texas; his family had hosted him for a few weeks after Dutch ran away
- Huge geek when it comes to mechanics and art history in general
- He and Texas probably made out once “just to see what it would be like”
- He and Chuck have a strange symbiotic relationship; hacker and mechanic means they work in tandem sometimes
- Relates to Mike with Kane Co. having killed part of his family; breaks the news to him that the “terminal illness” that his mom and stepdad got was very likely intentional on Kane’s part
- The teams older brother; usually steps in to be the more responsible one when Mike can’t
- May or may not have undiagnosed autism
- Was initially a Kane Co. tech intern just like Chuck, but he eventually quit
- He and Tennie have one of the most casual relationships ever, they clicked just like that
- Ends up accidentally getting a business in the AU, hits that Rodney Copperbottom grind in the Encampment so hard that he has to bargain with the Encampment people that he’ll return every few months
- Overly concerned about Mike’s safety after he’s injured in the AU, was against him pushing himself to save Capri (but alas)
- Major night owl; often goes out on the town doing graffiti and wakes up the next morning feeling like death
- Roth is his stupid chud robot son 💕
- His deceased older brother, Luv is based on pilot Dutch- where his name was initially Luv
Randal “Texas” Soriano
Age: 18-19
DOB: April 13th
Sexuality/ Gender: Bisexual/ Trans
- Oddly enough his parents are fucking… Meet the Robinsons eccentric weirdo geniuses, although they only gave up braincells to his mysterious older brother who Texas honestly isn’t even sure is real
- He has an older sister; Marnie, who works as a hairdresser. His mysterious older brother alledgedly lives in Geneva now for some reason
- Transitioned around 12 years old; started HRT around 14 and at 16 his voice dropped down so deep that his parents both got scared and backflipped when he spoke
- Basically partially raised by Jacob- became a regular at the bar at 9
- No one knows why he goes by Texas now- it’s a mystery
- Childhood friends with Capri and might’ve gotten abandonment issues after she disappeared; they reunite but he’s initially upset with her
- Kinda amped up his ego after Capri went missing; has alot of issues with his self worth and if he’s enough- so he made sure he wouldn’t be easy to ignore (also part of why he kinda starts drifting towards the Terras after he started feeling underappreciated by the Burners)
- No one knows why he’s like that but the theory is Weirdo eccentric parents + Motorcity upbringing + dumbass= Texas
- Was part of the Mama’s Boys as a young child, eventually left very messily bc he felt disrespected and was grieving over Capri. Why else do you think he and Junior loathe each other?
- He’s an idiot and didn’t even think of the possibility that Mike is Capri’s brother, it crossed his mind but again he’s stupid and didn’t pry much deeper into it
- Legend has it that he was born on Friday the 13th while all the planets were aligning and that he immediately threw up a rocker sign after he was born.
- World’s worst influence ever
- Technically was the 2nd member of the Burners. Starting a resistance was his idea.
- Capri and Jacob (and his parents) are the only ones allowed to call him by his real name. Marnie constantly forgets his name so he lets it slide
- Carbon copy of his grandfather when he was young; who is similarly unhinged and owns a car shop in San Antonio. (And he’s a gilf too)
- His parents are both Filipino, both second generation. Heavily implied his grandfather initially settled into Motorcity before moving South after his son got hitched
- Not a HC but I got the idea for his actual name from the series bible (even if it was all blanked out and probs super early drafts), Randal 💕
Jacob Barrett
Age: 60-61
DOB: May 6th
Sexuality: Gay
- Motorcity native but moved up to Deluxe as a young adult
- Met Abraham as a college senior while the former was still in high school, the two became close friends due to their similar interests
- Eventually they started Kane Co, revolutionizing technology and leading to them getting filthy rich and creating Detroit Deluxe 30 years prior to the show
- Was raised by a single mother; who eventually died of old age
- Jacob left Kane Co 10 years prior to the story, after Kane started going off the deep end and turning Deluxe into a dictatorship; and using Jacob’s tech to enact mass surveillance and enforce insane restrictions
- Knew Julie’s mother, and secretly knows Julie and her secret too, but he doesn’t say anything
- Befriended Mike and Capri’s father, Mitch, and Capri too after settling back into Motorcity
- Hid out at the Encampment for a few months initially to evade the Kane Bots sent after him
- The first of the Burners he knew was Texas; due to the latter knowing Capri and following him around like a lost puppy all the time when he was little
- Took Mike in after he ran away from Deluxe, it took awhile to get him to trust him though
- Appalled by Kane making kids soldiers; alongside all the other stuff; especially since he knows Kane has a daughter that age
- A resistance was an idea he initially opposed, not just because he’s a hippie; because the kids putting themselves in danger is the last thing he wants. He eventually relented.
- Has unofficially adopted all of the kids; probably the closest thing Mike has had to an actual father in years
- Knows alot more than anyone thinks
- Got Sasquatch from the junkyard, had upgraded it himself
Claire Mesnier
Age: 17
DOB: September 1st
Sexuality: Questioning but leaning towards sapphic
- Her family is high ranking within Kane Co., her mother is the head secretary while her father is the head of security
- Only child just like Julie
- Took her mothers surname, the former is a French immigrant
- Trilingual, can speak English, French, and Spanish
- In the AU she ends up being kicked out by her family after they discover she’s been hanging around the Burners (implied that she was ratted out)
- Doesn’t really know how to feel about Chuck’s crush on her, they might date a bit in the future only for them both to realize they have no idea what they’re doing; plus she’s learning more about her own sexuality and he’s grappling with his and to be fair; they can still be friends. It’s just not working out for them.
- Eventually becomes a Burner
- Her car can glide, and is named Echo. It’s based off of a bat
- Takes Julie to cat cafés
- Initially very timid when it comes to her status as a Burner, which really helps when Texas is shouting from the rooftops that she’s the newest member
- The other Burners (minus Chuck) are kinda like annoying brothers to her, she still cares about them though. She’s the closest to Julie
- Was tracking to become Julie’s assistant if she ever needed to take over Kane Co.
- Carbon copy of her mother, her dads genes didn’t do shit
- Her favorite animals are cats just like Julie and also bats, she thinks they look so stupid and she loves them
- Halloween is her favorite holiday
- Secretly loves metal music, has alot of interests in line with the Burners, although it took her a bit to warm up to cars
- At first after her parents kicked her out, she refused to leave Julie due to her being the only thing from her old life she has
- Respects Mike alot, still thinks it was incredibly stupid of him to sacrifice himself in the AU (once he’s feeling better she says this, the others agree)
- Can be herself now, but still is super reserved and a bit exasperated
Capri Chilton
Age: 19
DOB: January 19th
Sexuality: Pansexual Demiromantic
- I’m having alot of fun w/ her bc the show got cancelled before she ever appeared sooooo
- Very rowdy and gun-crazy, unintentional dumbass with how she acts sometimes. Although she IS really traumatized and often lashes out as a result of it. Above everything else she’s a lone wolf who’s accustomed to trusting no one.
- Was taken in by a gang known as the Badlands Encampment after her and Mike’s father disappeared; and was mainly raised by Ravage- a friend of Mitch and Jacob’s. Ravage wasn’t the best father and unconsciously projected her own trauma onto Capri and sheltered tf out of her
- Her friends at the Encampment were named Bucket and Wrench, two seedy mechanics who acted as her older brother figures. They were typically too busy to deal with her more often than not
- Left the Encampment at 17 after a massive falling out w/ Ravage to free roam Michigan’s Badlands; Motorcity and Detroit Deluxe
- Has multiple warrants out for her arrest in Deluxe
- She’s pissed off the Duke of Detroit more than once and they have the funniest fucking beef ever
- Was childhood best friends with Texas (same age and close proximity) and the two of them were like gas and a lighter, when one appeared the other usually followed. They reunite eventually and shenanigans ensue
- After initially reuniting w/ Mike they were both super awkward and distant; esp since they had just met. She still cares alot about him though and immediately gets protective after he ends up hurt or she feels Ravage is threatening him
- She rides a motorcycle and it’s called Howler, it’s her baby along with her gun
- Favorite animal is a wolf
- Has huge issues w/ losing people and committing to her platonic relationships as a result of this, she usually pushes people away before she can lose them, this fails w/ Mike
- Looks alot like her mama
- HATES Junior, they had beef when they were little bc she didn’t like how he and his gang treated Texas (that’s another story) even while the latter two were friends
- Jacob was and is like her uncle, although he starts taking on a more paternal role with her and Mike
- Smokes
- Aside from Mike and Texas, she gets along well with Dutch and they like to bond over their shared interest in mechanics
- She teases Chuck alot bc she can sense that he’s a bi disaster for both Mike and Claire from a mile away
- Capri and Julie find themselves confiding in one another more often than not; they’re polar opposites but still trust in one another
- Has probably failed to assassinate Kane multiple times
- Speaking of this she does NOT hesitate to immediately jump to violence when it comes to him, considering he killed her father and tried to kill her brother along with everything else, he’s kill on sight for her
- I took “Mike’s big sister he has no idea about” way too seriously they didn’t know the other existed until the AU continuation
- Her and Ravage’s parent-child relationship could only be described as toxic asf, super controlling and overprotective, Jacob actively has to seperate them bc the first thing they do after reuniting is start going at each other
